T-Mobile Comet Arriving Tomorrow – $9.99 on Contract

Starting tomorrow, November 3, T-Mobile in the US will be offering the T-Mobile Comet. The Comet is an Android based mobile phone that falls in to the entry-level category.

Price wise, it will cost just $9.99 (after a $50 rebate) and will be available on contracts starting at just £10/month for 200MB of data.

Technical specs show that the entry-level device has 7.2Mbps connectivity via HSPA as well as an FM radio, integrated Swype virtual keyboard, a microSD card to increase memory capacity up to 32GB and a 3 megapixel camera.

The new phone is powered by the latest version of Android which is Froyo, or Android 2.2 in number terms.

The main let down is the QVGA screen although a Froyo based handset costing $9.99 isn’t bad at all and well worth it if you want to avoid the higher end handsets.
