Over at IFA in Berlin, Sony have announced the new VAIO X series netbook. The Sony Vaio X has an 11 inch screen and is very thin. The casing is made from carbon fibre that houses an aluminium keyboard. As the Vaio X uses lightweight materials it also is very light at just 700 grams.
Right now the display model uses an Intel Atom processor and the machine runs Windows 7 with 2GB of ram and a 31Wh battery. However, Sony have also said that the Atom processor is just one of the options and could be changed in the near future when production models are made (or when more options are made available). Nokia Conversations have posted a quick hands-on video with the Nokia Booklet 3G. The video is more of a promotional sort with funky music and dodgy camera angles, but you do get a good idea of the size and functions of the booklet.
A roadmap of upcoming Asus Eee netbook products has been leaked. It shows an impressive line of netbooks that will be appearing which includes a new 12″ netbook that uses the NVIDIA Ion graphics chip along with a tablet PC that will feature a multi-touch display.

A few months back, Lenova announced the IdeaPad S12 netbook that was going to run the NVIDIA Ion chip set. We now hear that they have delayed shipping of the unit as they are waiting for Windows 7 to be launched. As Windows 7 is literally around the corner the good news is that the netbook/laptop should be shipping by the end of this month.
Dell have revealed details on their latest laptop named the Dell Inspiron 11z. The Dell 11z is powered by a 1.2GHz Intel Celeron 723 CULV processor, has an integrated graphics chip and an 11.6 inch LCD display with a resolution of 1366 x 768 pixels.
Amazon are giving a $70 saving when you purchase an Asus K50IJ-C1 laptop along with a Western Digital 250GB My Passport external hard drive. The laptop has a high definition LED based 15.6″ screen and is powered by an Intel Core Two Duo T6500 processor running at a nice 2.1GHz. 4GB of RAM is included with this laptop and it has 250GB of storage on a SATA 5400 RPM hard drive. It runs Windows Vista Home Premium and overall it’s a very powerful laptop.
MSI are working on a series of touchscreen netbooks that are planned for a late this year launch. The netbooks will be powered by the Intel Pine Trail-M platform.

The Toshiba Satellite L355 is a 17″ laptop that runs an Intel Celeron Processor, doesn’t have a webcam, no HDMI and no memory card reader. Other than that it’s not a bad laptop. The great thing here is that this entry level L355 will cost just $348 when it goes on sale at Walmart this Sunday.
