Apple [AAPL] has released a new update for iBooks. The new update is version 1.2 and it brings several new features to the iPhone and iPad (and iPod touch).
New features include better and fully illustrated books allowing childrens books to look better as well as for other books such as artbooks to get a makeover.
The update also brings more organisation to your library and now allows you to organise the library in to collections. The Books/PDF buttons have now been replaced with a single button that takes you to a list of folders. LG has announced the LG Optimus 2X. The Optimus 2X runs a 1GHz dial-core processor (NVIDIA Tegra 2) and has a 4 inch WVGA screen. Other features include 8GB of memory that can be expanded a further 32GB by using a microSD card.
BGR had some interesting thoughts in an article published today. They are hinting at the AT&T [T] iPhone exclusivity ending within the next few weeks, ie 31st December this year. They then go on to suggest that Verizon [VZ], who is taking the stage at CES 2011 in early January could invite Steve Jobs on to stage to announce the Verizon iPhone 4.
Three in the UK has announced that they are scrapping data limits on the Three One Plan. The service is described by Three as being a truly unlimited data plan that has no hidden fair usage limits. Instead, you just use what you want from what we understand.
TouchType has upgraded its Android keyboard app and has now given it HD graphics. The new HD layout allows it to function better on larger screen devices such as those with 4 inch and above screens and specifically, the Samsung Galaxy Tab.

Engineers along with a number of students have attached Nexus S smartphones to balloons and lifted the smartphones in to space.
Google [GOOG] is rolling out a new service that allows the company to learn your voice and how you speak. The reason for doing this is that voice to text services are occasionally a bit off. You say one thing and the conversion says something completely different in the transcript. By learning your voice, Google can see patterns in how you speak and how you pronounce certain words. It can then adapt accordingly to your voice.
Infinity Blade for the iPhone and IPad (and iPod touch) launched last week. We now hear that a new update is incoming as early as next week.
The Facebook app for Android has received an update. What the update brings to Android smartphones is the ability to chat with friends with the integrated chat service. Also, push notifications have been added to the app.
