Garmin Nuvifone M20 300x271 Garmin Nuvifone M20 Windows Mobile 6.5 UpdateThe Garmin Nuvifone took ages to be launched from when it was announced at the beginning of this year. We first got our hands on it in April and then it was only just recently launched a few months ago. When launched the phone was running Windows Mobile 6.1 which Garmin ASUS have now said that all owners of the phone are entitled to a free upgrade to Windows Mobile 6.5.

When I tested the phone back in April briefly I was quite impressed with what it could do. It just sucked that it took them so long to bring it out which seemed to kill quite a bit of interest in the device. [click to continue…]

by Matthew on November 2, 2009

tmobile hd2 300x205 HTC HD2 Coming to T Mobile UK NovemberT-Mobile in the UK have uploaded details of the HTC HD2 to their site stating it has a launch date of November. The problem is that they have displayed the wrong phone and also stated that the HD2 will give access to the Android Market to download apps… seems they are getting a little confused there.

But, the release date does look about right and looking at other pages on the T-mob site they do refer to a Windows Phone based device running WM 6.5, so it seems the release date is correct and that someone just mixed up a few of the details. [click to continue…]

by Matthew on October 20, 2009

wm 6 5 1 300x162 Windows Mobile 6.5.1 AnnouncedWhen Windows Mobile 6.5 (aka, Windows Phone) was launched recently, it didn’t go down as good as what we had hoped for. The problem with it was that it just seemed like a slight upgrade to 6.1 with a lot of the 6.1 features being behind the scenes in the applications… ie, not finger friendly.

We now hear that a new version could be making it’s way soon. It has been unofficially dubbed as 6.5.1 and will serve as an intermediary step between 6.5 and Windows Mobile 7 due out next year. The new version is basically more polished with a few tweaks such as new anti-aliased buttons rather than the older Windows 3.1 look. The version is also supposed to be faster and sleeker as well as using larger icons to be a lot more touch-friendly. [click to continue…]

LG BL40 Chocolate Review

by Matthew on October 19, 2009

LG BL40 Chocolate Review 300x200 LG BL40 Chocolate ReviewThe LG BL40 Chocolate mobile phone is unique due to it’s cinematic widescreen display that has an aspect ratio of 21:9 allowing it to play feature length movies with no borders top or bottom. With the BL40 having a large aspect ratio screen the phone is longer than your average mobile phone and though pictures seem to show the phone being a little over sized, when holding it you’ll find that it actually works very well and sits in your pocket very well.

The front of the phone is covered in tempered glass and has a nice glossy shine to it. There are no buttons on the front of the device and it’s just a smooth piece of glass that has just the ear speaker cut out. Both the top and bottom ends of the phone are accented in a vibrant red while the sides continue on the glossy black look of the front along with a thin silver strip that runs the length of the phone on each side. On the back of the phone the black gloss look is continued with just a small cut out for the 5 megapixel camera lens, flash and a small microphone. [click to continue…]
