Sun and Moon Jars

by Matthew on December 25, 2007

sun_moon_jar
Sun and Moon Jars are a unique way to create some nice warm lighting in your home. Each jar features a solar cell with rechargeable battery which can power the low power LED lamps for several hours. When placed in sunlight the batteries will charge allowing the glow to shine at night. The jars are frosted allowing the light to be diffused and look more realistic. There are no switches or controls for the lamps as they feature light sensitive switches inside which switch the LED’s on and off when needed. However, if you really really want to switch them off then you can flip the lid and switch them off manually. If the battery gets worn out over the years then you can replace it with another rechargeable AA battery.

The Sun and Moon jars cost $29.99 – $34.99 each and are available below.

Bicygnals

by Matthew on December 19, 2007

Bicygnals
For those bike users you now have a safer way to let traffic know you want to turn. The normal way to turn on a bike is to extend one of your arms (in effect, halving your control of the bike) and hope that drivers actually see you. Bicygnals are a great way to keep full control of your bike and let drivers know where you wish to go. To activate the turning signal you just flick your thumb on a switch and all is well. The bicygnals clip on to your handlebars and can quickly be removed when your bike is locked up on the street. The great feature about the bicygnals is that they are wireless. The thumb switch does not have any wires connecting it to the back or the front indicators.

Other features include

* Wireless indicators and lights for your bike.
* Lights are detachable and magnetic, slotting together into a compact carry case when not in use.
* Super-bright LED indicator lights at front and rear.
* Front switches control rear indicators wirelessly.
* Rear indicators are curved for side visibility.
* Integrated front and rear reflectors and LED rear and headlights.
* An option to have the rear and headlight on full beam or a flashing mode.
* Low battery indicator.
* Ergonomic and adjustable front and rear clamps.
* Complies with Road Vehicle Lighting Regulations.
* Requires 4 x AA Batteries (included) and 4 x AAA Batteries (included).
* Size: 32 x 9 x 3cm (in bag).

Not a bad set up at all if you ask me. The Bicygnals cost £39.95 over at IWOOT and are available in the US and UK.

Bowling Pin Lamps

by Matthew on December 18, 2007

bowling-lamps
For those who love bowling comes the perfect way to light your room. These bowling pin lamps provide soft light while standing up. The cool feature is how you switch them off. You need to knock them over which triggers the on/off switch. Just be careful not to launch a full bowling ball at them though as I am sure they wont be that strong.

Each pin costs $21.95.
