Gran Turismo Series Sells 60 Million Units

Sony Computer Entertainment Inc has announced that the Gran Turismo franchise has now exceeded 60 million in sales since it first arrived in December 1997. The franchise has now been running for 12 years and 11 months.

Sales are listed in the image below and start with the original that sold 10.78 million copies and moves on to Gran Turismo 2, 3 A-Spec, Concept 2001 Tokyo and on to various Prologue versions and then finally 4 and 5. Total sales have hit 61.41 million. [Read more…]

Apple Drops iOS Jailbreak Detection

Apple [AAPL] has quietly dropped an API in iOS that is used to detect if the iPhone has been jailbroken.

The iOS jailbreak detection API was first added when iOS 4.0 was launched in June of this year. In the latest version that was released a couple of weeks back, iOS 4.2.1, the API is either now disabled or completely removed. [Read more…]

Nexus S UK Pre-Orders Now Available

The Google Nexus S release date is almost here for the US and UK. For those of us here in the UK, we can now pre-order the Nexus S.

Pre-orders are now being taken at Carphone Warehouse where both contract and PAYG options are available. As for pricing, the Nexus S off-contract (PAYG) is £549.95. On contract, pricing is free for the phone on all plans £35/month or more and at the moment, £35/month is the cheapest plan. [Read more…]

It looks like the Google Chrome Cr-48 netbook release date has already arrived as some people are reporting that they have received theirs through the post today.

Google Cloud Print Beta Ready for PC

For those of you using a Windows based PC, ie it has XP, Vista or Windows 7 on it, you’ll now be able to use the Google Cloud Print service (the Beta version of it) to print a test page.

Cloud Print comes just ahead of the Chrome OS launch. What the service does is put all your printer drivers in the cloud which in turn, lets you print a document over the internet to your printer (or any printer you are authorised to print to). [Read more…]

The Three network in the UK is starting to push out the Android 2.2 update to Samsung Galaxy S smartphones locked on its network.

The Google Nexus S release date has been revealed as December 16 in the US and December 20 in the UK.

The Nexus S was made official today by Google. The device is made by Samsung and has a 4 inch WVGA screen. The processor running inside is a 1GHz Cortex A8 Himmingbird. It has 512MB of RAM and 16GB of storage built in. [Read more…]

RoverPad Android Tablet Announced

Rover Computers, a company based in Russia, has announced a new Android tablet called the RoverPad.

The RoverPad has a 10 inch screen with a resolution of 1024 x 600 pixels. The screen is resistive rather than capacitive. The tablet supports full HD at 1080p. It has a 1GHz ZT180 processor along with 256MB of RAM and 2GB of internal storage. [Read more…]

HTC HD7 Deathgrip Problem Gets a Response from HTC

Earlier this year the iPhone 4 was released. Some units leaked out a day early thanks to delivery companies shipping before the release date. On the first day that users got the iPhone 4 it was quickly noted that the iPhone antenna had a problem in that when you held it in your left hand and your thumb covered the black bar on the bottom left of the phone, the signal weakened. Although the problem wasn’t much different to any phone, it stung Apple in terms of bad press about it.
