Virgin is launching an iPad only magazine called Project next week. The magazine will cover stories in the entertainment, travel, business, design and international culture areas.

Richard Branson is expected to hold a press conference in the next few days to provide all the details such as costs and more about the magazine and what will be offered.

Google Android 2.3 Confirmed as Gingerbread

XDA-Developers has managed to confirm that the next version of Android will be Android 2.3 and not 3.0. The 2.3 update is also known as Gingerbread.

The information comes from some pictures captured of the Google Nexus S. Android 2.3 was seen to be running on the device with the about screen showing Android version 2.3 along with the Kernal information, Model Number and others information normally found on that screen. [Read more…]

Amazon Price Check Shopping App Launches

Amazon has launched a new app called the Price Check for iPhone. The new app adds a number of new functions to the traditional mobile shopping cart system.

The new features include the ability to “say it” and search for products by voice. Snap It lets you take a picture of a product and then search the Amazon store for it and Scan It lets you scan the barcode of a product to be found in the Amazon store. [Read more…]

Super Slim Laptop Stand – the AViiQ

The AViiQ is a super slim laptop stand, so much so that it’s claimed to be the thinnest stand in the world.

It measures less than 1/4″ in thickness and weighs 5.5 ounces. Size wise, it is 12.75 inches long and 2.75 inches wide. It is made from a material called Hylite which is a mix of aluminium and polyproplene which allows it to stay flexible but be strong and rigid. [Read more…]

Nintendo DSi Gets Color Makeover

The Nintendo DSi will be launching in a couple of new official colors in the next few weeks. Nintendo is launching a couple of holiday bundles that see the DSi launching in both green and orange as well as being packaged with a game.

The new bundles are limited edition and once all sold out, no more will be made available to purchase. Price wise, they will cost $150 each and will be going on sale this Black Friday, November 26. [Read more…]

Yesterday in London, the original Apple I computer sold. This particular model was one of 200 made in the beginning. When launched in 1976 it cost $666.66.

UberTwitter for iPhone Launches in Open Beta

UberTwitter is coming to the iPhone. A press release pushed out has announced that the Twitter client is available for free in the iTunes store and is being made available as a Beta release for testing.

UberTwitter is one of the most popular twitter clients available and accounts for 10 million tweets per day from BlackBerry users. Moving it to the iPhone will further increase that number. [Read more…]

Dell Streak Now Sold with Android 2.2

Dell is now selling the Dell Streak pre-installed with the Android 2.2 operating system as standard. The new offerings fall in line with the OTA update that is currently being pushed out to current Dell Streak users in Europe with the US to follow.

As well as offering the tablet with Froyo as standard, Dell is also selling the Streak in a choice of two colors of either red or white. [Read more…]

Acer to Launch a 4.8 Inch Android Smartphone

Acer will be launching a new smartphone although the name of it is unknown at the moment.

From what we have heard, it will have a large 4.8 inch screen with a resolution of 1024 x 480 pixels. Acer describe the smartphone as 100% smartphone and 100% tablet with a screen size of 4.8 inches. The operating system running on the phone will be Google Android. [Read more…]

Metropolis II Race Track for 1,200 Toy Cars

Check out this crazy looking track. It’s called Metropolis II and is a custom build road system that can carry 1,200 cars at a time along with 13 toy trains. Around the tracks is scenery built from Lego.

Each of the 1,200 cars has been custom designed. The track starts by lifting 5 rows of cars up a steep hill and then letting gravity bring them down to the bottom of the track where they get lifted up again. [Read more…]

Amazon Black Friday Daily Deals

Amazon has a bunch of new deals ready for today in the Amazon Black Friday run up. The first deal starts at 6:45am PST followed by 7:45am, 8am, 8:45am and onwards throughout today.

Not all deals are known at the moment, but some upcoming deals that are listed include 60% off Pinnacle SUB-SONIX 10 inch subwoofer, a deal on the 160GB Apple TV and on to a deal on the Asus A52F-XE2 15.6 inch laptop. Savings are not known on the latter two. There’s 4 other deals listed but right now they are just listed as “Upcoming Deal”. These should be revealed closer to the launch time.

ASUS Eee Note is the New Name for Eee Tablet

Back in May, ASUS announced a few new tablet/ebook reader/notepad style devices that had slightly confusing names. One of them had an eInk display and it was called a Tablet.

It seems that to bring the naming schemes back in line with what the products actually are, ASUS has decided to give that particular device a new name. The device will now be called the ASUS Eee Note which better reflects the product you actually are buying. [Read more…]
