MobileMe to Get A Lot Better in 2011

Today we hear that the MobileMe service from Apple [AAPL] is expected to get a lot better in 2011. The information comes from a user who emailed Steve Jobs asking about the reliability of the service and making comments that he had experienced problems over the year or 2 of using it…

Q: I love my iPad and iPhone4 and am a huge fan of yours and all that Apple does. I desperately want to stay inside of Apple’e ecosystem as much as possible.

However, MobileMe is making it very difficult for me to do so. Unreliable/unpredictable syncing, creating duplicate entries (sometimes scores of them), etc. It’s almost unusable.

And I know from forums (including Apple’s own support boards) that I am not the only one experiencing these very real and frustrating problems.

Please tell me it will get better, and soon?

A: Yes, it will get a lot better in 2011.

White iPhone 4 Release Date Could be Spring 2011

The mysterious White iPhone 4 that never arrived on time might actually have a new release date. The release date hasn’t been announced by Apple [AAPL], but was spotted on some official signage in an Apple store as having a launch date sometime in the Spring of 2011.

What this means is that the iPhone 5 could also be launching about the same time. Other rumours/suggestions hint that the iPhone launched next year might instead just be a minor update that will increase the speed, perhaps RAM, and perhaps antenna of the device but yet, still have the same design, ie Just like the iPhone 3GS did to the 3G. HTC HD7 Deathgrip Problem Gets a Response from HTC

Earlier this year the iPhone 4 was released. Some units leaked out a day early thanks to delivery companies shipping before the release date. On the first day that users got the iPhone 4 it was quickly noted that the iPhone antenna had a problem in that when you held it in your left hand and your thumb covered the black bar on the bottom left of the phone, the signal weakened. Although the problem wasn’t much different to any phone, it stung Apple in terms of bad press about it.

The HTC HD7 seems to suffer from the same “problem” if you can call it that. When holding the HD7 in a certain way the signal strength seems to drop a little. HTC has now provided a response to this… [Read more…]
