DigiTimes is reporting today that Apple [AAPL] has notified Foxconn that the iPad 2 must begin shipping as early as the end of February 2011.
As the source is DigiTimes, it doesn’t 100% guarantee this is true although shipping at the end of February would tie in with an iPad 2 release date of perhaps, sometime early April which is 1 year after the launch of the original iPad.
With Foxconn possibly shipping at the end of February, Apple could be getting ready to stockpile stock in various locations in preparation for a larger launch with less shortages. All we need now is the actual specs which have already been hinted at a few times over the last few months.
