LG Optimus 2X To Arrive on T-Mobile in March
Last week, LG announced the new LG Optimus 2X along with details of where it will be launching. The 2X is first starting off in Korea and shortly after will be moving to Asia and Europe. However, there was no mention of the Optimus 2X coming to America.

NEC Dual Screen Android Tablet to Arrive at CES 2011
NEC will be unveiling a new dual screen Android OS based tablet at CES 2011 that is being held in a couple of weeks time. The new dual screen tablet will be called “The Cloud Communicator” and will have two 7 inch screens attached together with a hinge in the middle.
Each of the 7 inch screens will be touchscreen. Other features include WiFi, Bluetooth as well as 3G for connectivity. Although both screens are touchscreens, it isn’t known at the moment what type of touch technology they will use. Fujitsu T580 Tablet PC Now Available
Fujitsu has launched the T580 Tablet PC recently. The tablet was previously marketed as a slate-beater device.
Features of the Fujitsu Tablet include a 10 inch screen that has a 1366 x 768 pixel resolution. The display is backlit by LED and uses a dual-digitiser that works capacitive with your fingers or with an active pen that is provided. Up to four points of contact can be made with the tablet PC. Microsoft Genuine Advantage Shut Down for Office
Microsoft [MSFT] has shut down one of the tools used in the battle against piracy with its software. The tool shut down is the Office Genuine Advantage software that pops up from time to time when adding a new template or updating office components.
What the software did was pop up each time you ran some updates and at that point, checked to see if your license of the software was valid. If so, you could proceed. [Read more…]
iAd Producer Download Announced by Apple
Apple [AAPL] has launched a new app for those running a Mac. The app is called iAd Producer and is designed to assist developers in creating feature rich ads for the iOS platform.
Feature rich ads such as interactive iAds can be created. The app automatically sorts out the HTML5 and CSS3 as well as Javascripts that are required to run in the background of your iAds. [Read more…]
Nexus S Rooting Encouraged by Google
An interesting article went live at the Android Developers website yesterday called “It’s not “rooting”, it’s openness “. What this is referring to is the ability to customise Android based smartphones as users with rather than forcing them to break in to the device.
The post at Android Developers was inspired by a comment made at Engadget that said “Nexus S has been rooted, let the madness commence!”. A comment then went to say that Android security was bad and that’s why the Nexus S was rooted so quickly. [Read more…]
ViewSonic G Tablet Has No Manufacturing Defect
Yesterday, Staples announced that they were stopping selling the ViewSonic G Tablet due to what they called a “manufacturing defect”. A number of blogs, including ours, spread the news around.
This seems to have caught the attention of ViewSonic who have now issued a press release which doesn’t say there is a hardware defect, but instead simply says that an update is being pushed out over WiFi that will fix a few problems that customers have been seeing. [Read more…]
Kinect 3D Video Conferencing Hack Created
Just a few weeks ago, a guy called Oliver Kreylos managed to get the Microsoft Kinect to track him and put him in a virtual setup where a live video feed could be manipulated to rotate around himself. The effect was amazing to watch. The downside is that anything past what the Kinect could see was just left blank. To get around this, Krelos connected two Kinects together to fill in some gaps that were created when rotating around a person.
Kreylos is back again and this time is using a couple of Kinects to create a virtual 3D video conferencing system. The system is capable of transmitting the data from the two Kinect cameras over a WAN and lets the person receiving the video call manipulate the virtual scenery by rotating around the person talking. Motorola Tablet with Android 3.0 at CES 2011
Motorola has created a video teaser called the “Tablet Evolution”. The ad is preparing for the unveiling of the Motorola Android 3.0 tablet and explains that it will be revealed at CES 2011.
The video starts by showing various tablets from thousands of years ago and says they are too heavy to carry around and have low res screens. Moving on a few thousand years to now, the iPad is next in line that is described as a giant iPhone… a couple of times. [Read more…]
Angry Birds HD Update for iPad Arrives
Angry Birds HD for the iPad received an update today that brings a few new things to the game.
The first addition is a new theme called Frontier Badlands. The update brings another 15 levels to the iPad making the game even larger than before. A new Golden egg is included as well as Game Center support and finally the Mighty Eagle is added. [Read more…]
Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 Could get NVIDIA Tegra 2 Chipset
Reports today are indicating that the Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 could sport an NVIDIA Tegra 2 chipset when the tablet launches next year.
The rumors come from a semiconductor analyst called Ambrish Srivastava from BMO Capital Markets who suggests that the Galaxy Tab 2 as well as many other similar devices will come with that chipset installed. [Read more…]
