ASUS Eee PC T91MT Tablet Now Available in US

asus-eee-pc-t91mtAmazon in the US have started to ship the ASUS Eee PC T91MT tablet. The T91MT is a newer version of the standard T91 with MT referring to multi-touch. The netbook tablet runs Windows 7 Home Premium and has an acceptable 5 hour battery life.

Spec wise it has a 1.33GHz Intel Atom Z520 processor along with 1GB of DDR2 RAM (with the ability to take up to 2GB). For storage you get a 32GB solid state drive along with 500GB of free online storage courtesy of ASUS. [Read more…]

Quad-Core 27″ iMac’s Now Shipping

iMac-27-inch-quad-coreJust a few weeks ago Apple [AAPL] launched a new range of iMac’s that have screen sizes of 21.5″ and 27″. A number of new configuration options were also announced which includes a new Core i5 and i7 quad-core Intel processor. Although lower spec models have already been shipping, we now hear that the quad-core versions have also started to ship.

Putting a more powerful processor in your new iMac isn’t cheap though. For the standard spec quad-core (Core i5) the cost is $1999 which of course can further increase if you decide to go for more than the standard 4GB of RAM. If you opt for the Core i7 then add another $200 to the base cost of the machine. [Read more…]

LG Chocolate Touch Launched

The LG Chocolate Touch is designed for those who love music and comes equipped with Dolby Mobile sound. On the music side of the phone it has an FM radio, integrated song ID, dedicated side key for access to songs and for connectivity to headsets, Bluetooth is also included.

Software built in to the phone has a feature called “Join the Band” where a drum kit is launched on the screen allowing users to tap away to music and join in. As well as having the band feature the phone also has the Join the Band piano function that allows users to join in music on an 88 key on-screen piano. [Read more…]

Dell Adamo XPS Unboxed – Arriving before Christmas

Dell-Adamo-XPS-OpenThe Dell Adamo XPS is a wafer-thin laptop that will be launched in time for Christmas. When launched the ultra thin laptop will cost $1799.

The Adamo XPS measures just 0.4 inches thin. A couple of other striking features include a latch that you swipe your finger across to open the laptop up along with a unique hinge which raises the keyboard at the back slightly when the Adamo XPS is opened up.

Spec wise it has a 1.4GHz Intel Core 2 Duo CULV processor along with GS45 integrated graphics and a healthy 4GB of DDR3 memory. The screen is LED backlit and measures 13.4 inches and is capable of a HD resolution at 720p. [Read more…]

HTC DROID Eris November 6

HTC DesireVerizon have officially announced that they will be offering the HTC DROID Eris and that it will be launched tomorrow on their network. The DROID Eris is another version of the HTC Hero and has a 3.2 inch capacitive touchscreen along with a 5 megapixel camera, EVDO Rev.A and it uses the HTC Sense user interface.

For storage the HTC Eris has a microSD card slot with an 8GB microSD card being provided in the box. The phone unfortunately does not run the Android 2.0 operating system which of course means it will lack the fancy new Google Maps Navigation that the Motorola DROID will be getting. [Read more…]

Gigabye Booktop M1305 gets Desktop Dock

gigabyte_booktop_m1305_1Gigabyte are launching a new Booktop called the M1305 that comes with a desktop docking station to give the graphics a little extra kick.

The new Booktop has a 13.3 inch screen that can display a resolution of 1,366 x 768 pixels and has an Intel CULV processor inside. The dock features an NVIDIA GeForce GT220 GPU with 1GB of DDR3 memory that allows the Booktop to get a boost when docked.

Inside you’ll find 4GB of memory as well as a storage capacity of up to 500GB depending on the option you choose. An optical drive can also be found in the unit. [Read more…]

Dell Mini 10 with Integrated EVDO on Sprint

dell_inspiron_mini_10Sprint have announced that they are offering an EVDO enabled netbook in the form of the Dell Inspiron Mini 10. The netbook costs $199.99 after a $100 mail-in rebate and will set you back $59.99 on a 24 month contract that will provide 5GB of data per month.

The Mini 10 netbook has a 10.1 inch screen that has a resolution of 1024 x 600 pixels. Powering the netbook is an Intel Atom Z520 processor running at 1.33GHz along with 1GB of RAM and a 160GB harddrive.

Connectivity wise it has wireless at b/g speeds along with the integrated EVDO Rev.A for hooking up to mobile networks while on the move. Separately the netbook costs $349 if ordered direct from Dell, so you do save a bit on the netbook although you are locked in to a 24 month contract in getting the cheaper price. [Read more…]

Sony Ericsson XPERIA X10 Announced

xperia-x10After a few months of rumours and leaks about the Sony Ericsson XPERIA X10 and it’s change of name from Rachael to X3 and finally to X10, it has now been officially unveiled. The new SE Android based phone runs a 1GHz Snapdragon processor built by Qualcomm and has a healthy 4 inch capacitive touchscreen display which isn’t quite the size of the HTC HD2, but is still quite a large screen to work with.

It runs the Rachael Android UI which we showed a little of yesterday that features a complete overhaul of the media menus and video playback. As well as the fast processor, large screen and nice UI the phone has an 8.1 megapixel camera although on the downside for now, the phone is a little choppy and the snapdragon processor seems to quickly kill the battery. Don’t be too worried about that though as the UI is a very early stage as the phone isn’t getting released for another few months yet. We expect that when it is released the battery and choppy issues should be all sorted. [Read more…]

Windows 7 Breaks 3 Percent Share Barrier

Windows-7Windows 7 launched just recently and has already achieved a 3.48% market share according to figures collected at the end of October. These figures only represent installed copies and do not include shipped copies that have not been installed just yet.

Windows 7 has been around for a number of months now in beta. Just before the 21 October release date figures showed a share of 1.89%. The 1.89% representing beta installs also counts towards the total 3.48% reported. [Read more…]

Toshiba’s Fuel Cell now Available

toshiba-fuel-cellAfter hearing about fuel cell’s being the future for the last few years we actually see that this might just be the case as Toshiba have launched their fuel cell over in Japan. Fuel cells allow instant power by topping up the battery with concentrated methanol. They are ideal for items such as laptops where you could simply top them up with fuel and work away without the need to recharge or plug in.

The new Toshiba fuel cell called the Toshiba Dynario acts as a battery charger with 50mL being capable of charging your mobile phone or other USB connected devices a couple of times before needing to be refilled. If you travel a lot then this type of charger could be handy. [Read more…]
