This morning, the Three UK network Blog posted a video demonstration of the new Samsung Galaxy Pro smartphone that will soon be launching on its network.
The technical specs show that it has a 2.8 inch screen which is capacitive touch. The screen takes up about half of the screen unlike the regular Samsung Galaxy which covers the whole front panel. This is of course, because of the QWERTY keyboard that takes up the bottom side of the device. [Read more…]
pandaelf Labs has created a system that allows PS3 games to be played on any iOS device which includes iPad, iPhone and the iPod touch.
The system isn’t self contained in that you actually play the PS3 games that are stored on the device. Rather, you are connecting up to a PS3, PC and various other bits of hardware so that you use the iOS device as an interface.
The process is that the capture device streams live video from the PS3 to a computer. You then connect everyAir on iOS to the computer and with a few tweaks to the hardware, the interpreter knows what buttons you’ve pressed on the screen, sends them to the PS3 which then streams the appropriate video content back through the PC. Everything Everywhere, AKA Orange and T-Mobile in the UK, has announced on Twitter that they will be selling the iPad 2 when it launches later this month. If the company follows along with the official release date, we should see subsidized versions landing on March 25 in the UK.
No details of pricing have been revealed yet, partly because Apple [AAPL] hasn’t released UK pricing just yet. We expect that the new tablet will be priced similarly to what the original iPad was which was £199 with a two year contract. [Read more…]
The iOS 4.3 GM seed has been released by Apple to developers. This particular version is the final step before the official and final launch that will see iOS 4.3 being publicly made available on March 11.
With this particular step in the testing phase, it also now signals the point at which developers can start submitting iOS 4.3 compatible apps to Apple for approval. [Read more…]
If you didn’t realise a new iPad was coming out and went ahead and purchased a first gen iPad in the last few days, you will soon be eligible for a refund of $100, £100 or 100 depending on what region you purchased it in.
The refund period is believed to cover the last 2 weeks up till yesterday when the priced dropped by £100 on each model in the UK. To get the refund you need to contact the store where you purchased the iPad from. If you ordered online, you need to call Apple to claim the refund. [Read more…]
Earlier this week, a small percentage of Gmail users had problems with ALL emails vanishing from the system. We now see that the update, as of this morning, that all should have returned to normal:

If seeing inside the latest technology is something you enjoy, then iFixit are on hand again as they have now taken apart a Nintendo 3DS.
The 3DS is similar to older models in someways, but in other ways it has a totally different approach. The team found that the 3D effect worked well although out of the 10 employees who tested it, one of them couldn’t see the effect at all. The way the screen works is by using a parallax barrier. The 3DS has an adjustment slide that when moved, sends the images off center and towards each eye. By making two slightly different images, you then get to see a 3D effect. The BBC will be launching iPlayer internationally for the iPad in the coming months. Due to the content being used abroad, a charge will be made to use the service. It has been announced that the price per month will be less than $10.
At the FT Digital Media & Broadcasting conference held in London, Mark Thompson said that “The greatest month-on-month growth now is not on PCs or cable TVs but on iPads, iPhones, other smartphones and games consoles.” [Read more…]
Problems became apartment last month when Microsoft [MSFT] pushed out the first Windows Phone 7 update to all devices. Mostly, things went very smooth but for those with a Samsung Omnia 7, there was a different story. Reports soon came in that the upgrade process was breaking several steps in and when users saw crashes on a specific step, it actually bricked the device.
In response to that, Microsoft pulled the update for Samsung users. We now hear that the problems have been resolved and that the updates are now working correctly. [Read more…]
For those running an Experia X10, you now have an option to install Gingerbread. Before you run and try grab the download, there’s just a few things to point out.
First, this update is not official, so run at your own risk and make sure you follow any instructions. It is best that you avoid if you don’t know what you are doing.
Second, as it’s not official, not everything works as it should. For example, there’s no sound in this build and the camera also doesn’t work. [Read more…]
When Apple announces a new iPad or any other iOS, it comes as no surprise that a HDMI port is not built in. We originally put this down to Apple wanting to control the way we connect to our iPad or iPhone in that we use the standard 30 pin dock connector. We also believed it to be that Apple doesn’t want to mess with a design by having a side full of ports. On all iOS devices (not inc Apple TV), Apple keeps a clean look around the edges by having a small amount of buttons and a single port to connect to a computer. The only other slot available is the discretely positioned microSIM slot that hides behind an almost invisible cover.

Apple has dropped the price of the original iPad in the UK which now gives you the option to pick up the tablet with a price starting at £329.
Each model looks to have dropped £100 in price from the original which sees the original iPad priced as follows:
