Tablet Dune Windows 7 Slate Appears in Belgium

The Tablet Dune has been revealed. This tablet is a Windows 7 Slate that has been spotted over in Belgium.

Technical specs reveal that it has a 10.2 inch screen (no details of resolution are known yet), and that it runs on an Intel Atom N450 processor that is clocked at 1.67Ghz. Memory wise it has 2GB of DDR 2 and Intel Integrated Graphics are also included.

For storage it has a 160GB 2.5 inch hard drive. There is also plenty of connectivity with wireless 802.11a/b/g/n as well as Bluetooth and optional 3G. A 1.3 megapixel webcam can also be found on the device. [Read more…]

Samsung Galaxy Tab Release Date to Be Announced Soon

Samsung finally revealed some official details about the Samsung Galaxy Tab. The Samsung Galaxy Tab release date is yet to be revealed although the official teaser video below does show that the Samsung Tablet will be unveiled on September 2 at IFA.

As well as revealing the unveiling date, Samsung also reveal a few other things on the short but sweet video. Features confirmed include a 7 inch screen, Google Android 2.2, Swype HD keyboard entry, HD video, video calling, navigation and movie playback to name a few things. [Read more…]

Samsung Galaxy Tab P1000 Seen Running Android 2.2

Yesterday, we came across a video of the Samsung Galaxy Tab being used on a train in Australia. The tablet seen in Sydney was the seven inch version of the yet to be announced tablet device.

More pictures have been revealed of the Samsung Galaxy Tab P1000. We believe this to be a separate model due to different language seen on the screen. The device is said to have a 1024 x 600 resolution screen along with a 3.2 megapixel camera. The case is made of a lightweight plastic. [Read more…]

Samsung Galaxy Tablet Spotted in Australia

Earlier today, Electronista managed to capture someone using a Samsung Galaxy Tablet over in Sydney, Australia.

The device was seen being used by an anonymous telco worker at a train station. The tablet being used appeared to have a 7 inch screen. 3G connectivity can be found in this particular tablet.

Looking at the screen, Electronista believe this particular tablet is running a 1GHz ARM processor. This particular CPU is also found in the Samsung Galaxy S smartphone. [Read more…]

Sony Reader Touch Edition Discontinued

Recently, some details of a new Sony Reader were found online which indicated a couple of new models would be incoming.

The Digital Reader is reporting today that the Sony PRS600 has now been discontinued which indicates the previously mentioned PRS-650 model could be incoming soon.

The discontinued status normally appears on a third party website when a retailer tries to order a new batch of that model to sell and is told there are none available. [Read more…]

Toshiba SmartPad Tablet Leaked

Some leaked shots of the Toshiba SmartPad tablet have been leaked online. The images show what is believed to be a new tablet being launched by Toshiba in the next few months.

The images were found by NotebookItalia and are similar in looks to what was briefly seen in July of this year. The name of SmartPad is believed to be the official name of the new Toshiba Tablet.

It isn’t clear when Toshiba will unveil the new tablet although we could see it at IFA in a few weeks time. [Read more…]

HTC Tablet to use N-Trig Screen

N-Trig isn’t a well known company although you might have heard of the Microsoft [MSFT] Surface computer which uses these particular screens.

We now hear that the same company, N-Trig, will also be providing screens for the upcoming HTC Tablet devices. The screen for the HTC Tablet will of course be multi-touch.

The HTC Tablet is expected to be the Google Tablet much like the Nexus One was built for Google [GOOG] by HTC. The tablet is expected to run the new Chrome OS. [Read more…]

Pocketbook Android Powered e-Reader Incoming

Pocketbook has announced five new eBook Readers that will be launched at IFA this September.

The new Pocketbook devices include 2 entry level devices called the ProBook 602 and the 902. The next up is the ProBook 603 and 903. The 60X devices each have six inch screens while the 90X devices have 9.7 inch screens. [Read more…]

Cruz Reader and Tablet Available for Pre-Order

Velocity has made the Cruz Reader and Cruz Tablet available for pre-order.

Not much is known about the eBook Reader and tablet device other than they run Google Android for the OS and are capable of connecting up to the Borders Bookstore to download eBooks from.

Technical spec wise, nothing is really listed. CrunchGear point out that not showing the specs could indicate that the devices are low end and might struggle to handle video playback and games. [Read more…]

LG Tablet to be Better than the iPad – According to LG

In an interview with the WSJ, the LG VP of Marketing said that the LG Tablet will be better than the iPad. The reason for this is that it’s going to be surprisingly productive to use.

It’s an interesting and bold statement and one we wish them luck with. Often when declaring words such as those mentioned above, the products don’t cut it and end up not selling. [Read more…]

Sony Reader eBooks to Last One-Third Longer Per Charge

A couple of new Sony Reader eBook devices are launching soon. We first heard about them a couple of weeks back where we expected them to be thinner than the current versions.

From what the poster above (larger below) shows, the two new Readers are called the Sony Reader Pocket Edition and the Sony Reader Touch Edition.

Each appears to have a new user interface. The pocket edition will have a 5 inch display while the touch edition will be a little larger at 6 inches. Other details include a couple of thousand extra page turns per charge taking it up to 10,000 page turns per battery. [Read more…]

HP webOS Tablet Release Date – Early Next Year

Yesterday, HP had an earnings call in which they discussed the companies financial details for the last quarter. For some, that’s not particularly interesting. However, in that call someone asked about the arrival of a tablet from HP.

The actual question asked was more in line with the launch of the iPad and it’s effect on sales of netbooks. The response basically said a webOS based product was being launched early in 2011. [Read more…]
