The 32GB information comes from a review unit that SaudiMac managed to test that showed 32GB printed on the box. This shot has now been taken down though.

Apple iPad – 1 Million Sold – Official

After just 28 days of being on sale, Apple [AAPL] has sold 1,000,000 Apple iPads. Over 12 million apps have been downloaded and 1.5 million eBooks from iBookstore.

“One million iPads in 28 days-that’s less than half of the 74 days it took to achieve this milestone with iPhone,” said Steve Jobs, Apple’s CEO. “Demand continues to exceed supply and we’re working hard to get this magical product into the hands of even more customers.”

That’s quite an impressive set of numbers for a product that has only been on sale a month today. The numbers will continue to grow at a healthy rate too as an international launch is set for this month with several more countries having both the iPad wifi and iPad 3G models towards the end of the month.

Jailbroke Apple iPad 3G Sends SMS Message

MuscleNerd has been working away on his new Apple iPad 3G this weekend it seems. As well as him and the dev team launching the Apple iPhone OS 3.1.X and 3.2 untethered jailbreak, they also managed to get the Apple iPad 3G to send an SMS message.

There is no GUI for this though and right now it is only working via command line, but either way it’s still a great accomplishment indicating that next in line is phone calls.

The SMS couldn’t be sent over the AT&T network though as there seems to be some block on the AT&T micro SIM sending messages. Instead, a T-Mobile SIM card was chopped up and made in to a micro SIM and this SIM was used to send the messages. [Read more…]

New version of webOS Coming May/June

Developers have been notified by Palm that a new webOS update is scheduled for launch either late may or early June. The message comes to remind developers that they need to test their apps on the new version and make any adjustments to make them compatible.

To do this, Palm are releasing a new SDK release candidate that will give developers some time to make applications compatible.

Updates in the new webOS show that PDK apps will be available in the new release. However, the update is not a major release, so not too much else will change other than a few tweaks and bug fixes here and there. [Read more…]

Twitter Android App now Available

Twitter has announced their new Twitter for Android application. The new app brings a number of features to the Android OS which includes support for Eclairs Quick Contact bar as well as the ability to tweet from the Gallery app.

There is a downside to the app though as it doesn’t support earlier versions of the Android OS. You’ll need Android 2.1 to run it.

From what we understand, Twitter worked closely with Google [GOOG] on this application. Twitter have also contributed the code to Android’s trunk making it open source in the near future. Also a number of API’s have also been created allowing developers to integrate twitter in to their own applications. [Read more…]
