Sony A Series Walkman

Sony-A-Series-WalkmanSony have created the new A series walkman that has a 2.8″ OLED screen with a resolution of 240×400 pixels. Also built in is an FM radio, noise cencelling and TV-out.

The A-Series walkman measures just 7.2mm thin and weighs just 2.2 ounces making it a very sleek looking gadget.

Other features of the Sony A Series includes the standard for codec support, ie, it will play MP3, MP4, WAV and most other stuff that is thrown at it. Also a drag and drop feature is included that transcodes videos dropped on to it from your computer. [Read more…]

Battery Wizard can Charge Disposable Batteries

battery-wizardThe Battery Wizard is a gadget that can keep charge in your regular disposable batteries. It’s not all what it sounds like, but is quite an interesting gadget that will prolong the life of your batteries by up to 10 times.

The charger accepts alkaline batteries in AAA, AAA, C, D and 9 volt sizes and basically keeps batteries topped up so that you can use them a lot longer. 1 to 4 batteries can be charged allowing you to charge individual batteries if needed. [Read more…]

iPhone Pwnage 3.1 Tool Now Available

iphone-pwnage-tool-3-1The latest iphone Pwnage Tool has been launched. It is numbered 3.1 and it supports Jailbreaking of the iPhone OS 3.1. However, it can only unlock the 1st gen iphone, iPod Touch and iPhone 3G (not the iPhone 3G S).

This is the low down on our tools for use with the 3.1 firmware from Apple, please read the whole post in full before attempting anything. Because of changes with Apple’s update techniques (that complicate the 3GS upgrade process) this will be a multipart release. This release starts with PwnageTool 3.1 for Mac OS X this application supports the iPhone 1st Generation (2G), the iPhone 3G and the iPod touch 1G. NB: THIS DOES NOT SUPPORT THE 3GS OR 2G/3G IPOD TOUCH. redsn0w for Mac OS X and Windows will follow sometime in the near future, please don’t bug us about it we’ll release when we have something ready.

Motorola DEXT Going to Orange in the UK

Motorola-DEXTThe Motorola DEXT will be available exclusively to Orange users in the UK. The phone, also known as the CLIQ in the US, is Motorola’s first Android phone.

Asus Eee Keyboard – Launching October

Deal of the Day: Aiptek A-HD 720p Camcorder

Aiptek-HD-CamcorderAmazon have a great deal today (only) on the Aiptek A-HD 720p 8 megapixel HD camcorder. The HD camcorder is capable of capturing images that are 1280 x 720 pixels in size at 30 frames per second. The camera is on offer for $79.99 which is $20 cheaper than the list price.

The HD camcorder is palm sized and as well as being able to capture HD video it can also capture still images. The screen on the camera measures 2.4 inches and is a TFT LCD display. The screen also can swivel 27 degrees if needed to get the right viewing angle. [Read more…]

Dell Launches 2 New Displays – U2410 and ST2410

Dell-U2410Dell have launched two new 24 inch desktop displays. The first higher end is the UltraSharp U2410 that uses IPS (in-plane switching) in it’s panel that covers 100% of the sRGB colour space along with 96% Adobe RGB. The U2410 has an 80,000:1 dynamic contrast ratio along with a 1,000:1 static ratio. 12 bit internal colour rendering is also achieved with this LCD display.

The U2410 is available now costing $599 and has a number of inputs that include DisplayPort, DVI, HDMI as well as RCA and VGA for those still using analogue connectors. [Read more…]

Toshiba 160GB 1.8″ Single Platter Drive Launched

toshiba-MK1634GAL-1-8-inch-hard-driveUp till now, the largest 1.8″ single platter harddrive had a capacity of 80GB. Toshiba is about to change that though as they have created the same physical sized drive but with a 160GB capacity instead.

The new Toshiba drive is numbered the MK1634GAL and spins at 4200 RPM. It isn’t a SATA drive, and instead uses a PATA interface. The drive also has some soft of acoustic management technology which makes it also run quieter which is another bonus. [Read more…]

TomTom XXL 530S and 540S Launched

TomTom-530-vs-330TomTom has launched their latest PND (ie, GPS satnav) units that have a 5″ widescreen display as well as upgraded routing technology. The new routing technology is based around IQ Routes that calculates the quickest journey time based on historical data.
