Uno Extreme

by Matthew on July 29, 2006

Produced by Mattel, Uno extreme is a definite improvement on the old classic game of Uno. Most people have heard of and/or played the age old card game of Uno, but however we are all aware that after a few rounds, the game can get a bit tedious and, well…er…..boring. So say hello and welcome to Uno extreme, the game that is full of surprises, laughs and anticipation – definitely a more active version of the game and certainly not a recipe for boredom. UNO Extreme takes the No.1 family card game to a new level. Race to get rid of all your cards, but watch out for the special action cards – just when you think you are winning you may find yourself with a hand bigger than you started with!

Buy from Amazon.co.uk in the UK
or from Amazon.com in the USA.

The card dispenser is durable and the cards themselves have new graphics and bright colours – perfect for children and adults alike. New action cards include those that make you swap hands, press until cards shoot at you and making everyone else apart from you press the button.

It’s a definite family game, offering hours of fun for very little expense. At approximately £15, it is worth every penny!! You can make friends and enemies, but ultimately you will find endless fun!

Black Diamond Smartphone

by Matthew on July 25, 2006

The Black Diamond Smartphone was a concept a few months back and most of us thought it would stay that way. However, a company called VIPM is going to be producing these in very limited numbers. Basically it means that they will be a tad on the expensive side (ie… you wont get it free with a contract). The price tag will be somewhere in the $300k price range. Yes… that K is another 3 zero’s on there :)

It looks amazing. It runs the Windows Mobile 5.0 platform and has a 2 inch screen. It has a 400Mhz XScale processor with wifi, bluetooth, 128Meg of internal memory and a touch sensative keypad.

Earlier I mentioned it is a limited edition. A total of 5 will be made. Good luck at getting one :) And raising the money to buy it. What happens if it breaks though? Will they ship another? That would mean that a 6th would have to be made. Hmmmm.

SatuGO Bouncing Ball Digital Camera

by Matthew on July 25, 2006

The Bouncing Ball Digital Camera from SatuGO is a cool looking device. It’s a webcam but in the form of a rubber ball. Really! It is. You can throw this thing around and have it snap shots while in the air, as it hits the floor or when ever you want. Instead of breaking in impact like most cameras would, this thing just bounces away.

I do wonder though if while chucking it through the air at crazy speeds, what will the quality be like?

Casio Exilim EX-Z110 6mp Digital Camera

by Matthew on July 25, 2006

The Casio Exilim EX-Z110 is a 6 megapixel digital camera. It makes the use of a digital camera more convenient with it’s user friendly interface. However, the nice user interface does not make the camera worse off. It still uses cutting edge technology with intelligent functionality for producing very high quality photos.

There are 3 shooting modes on this camera from easy mode, normal and then advanced image controls where you can adjust every settings like manual focus, shutter speeds and much more. Of course with the large 6 megapixel CCD, you are able to take some cracking shots with very good prints.

Tekken: Dark Resurrection

by matty on July 23, 2006

MTV have given Tekken: Dark Resurrection a nice 9.2 out of 10 on the Sony PSP. Tekken has always been a top seller for Sony and no doubt it will be a hit on the small screen PSP. Tekken takes it charachters from Tekken 5 but adds more fighters, more moves, new backgrounds, customised options and a lot more. The game has raised the bar to show off what the Sony PSP is capable of. It reminds me of how GT3 and GT4 pushed the PS2 beyond what people thought.

Some of the pros are that it has the best graphics on the PSP so far
Lots of modes
Lots of charachters to fight with
Handles just like you would want Tekken to handle.

The only cons of the device are just the diagonals on the D pad. They can be a bit hard to get some of the moves to execute from time to time. I am sure some practice and skill will fix that though.

The graphics have been made to a high quality although there are not as many polygons as the arcade version. This is ok for the portable though. Gameplay is where it is at and the graphics despite being behind the arcade are still not that far behind to worry about it.

PSP – PS3 Remote – RSS

by matty on July 23, 2006

It has been confirmed in San Diego that the Sony PSP will be capable of working as a remote for the Sony Playstation 3 which is due out later this hear. It has been a rumour for a number of months but is now official.

The next version of firmware for the PSP is version 2.8 which will include support for RSS video feeds and will also include a demo of World Tour Soccer 2.

It’s good news that the PSP is still getting the needed support from Sony with the launch of the new Sony PS3.

Other news for the PSP is that it will feature a better keyboard soon as this is one of the downsides of using the device for anything else but games.

Skype Retro Phone

by Matthew on July 23, 2006

If you do not mind being attached to your PC with a curly cord then the Skype Retro phone is for you. It’s basically shaped in the form of one of those old 80’s and earlier phones with the curly cord and chunky hand set. Looks funny and I dont think I will be able to make a serious call with it.

All we need now is a Skype Candlestick Phone :)
