As well as announcing the LG LU7000 series TV’s, LG also announced 3 other new TV’s named the SL9000, SL8000 and LH9000 LED TV’s at IFA today. Each of the 3 new TV’s offers something new and each of them look fantastic.
The first is the new BORDERLESS SL9000 Edge LED TV. The Edge LED TV has it’s backlight actually around the edges of the screen allowing it to measure just 2.9cm in thickness. The glass on the front of the screen also goes right to the edge sitting flush with the bezel making it a complete smooth panel to hang on the wall. I attended the press event for the LG BL40 Chocolate phone this evening and had a chance to have a quick play with the phone to see what it’s all about. The key feature of the BL40 is the 21:9 aspect ratio screen that measures 4″. This makes the phone longer than your average phone, yet after seeing the phone and holding it, it isn’t as long as expected and the dimensions work well. The phone is quite thin measuring just 10.9mm while the width of the phone is 51mm and length 128mm. The screen is covered in tempered glass to give it a nice sleek look.
LG are launching their new 15-inch AM OLED TV over in Korea in November. We should see it arrive over here sometime in 2010. The thin LG TV uses active-matrix organic light-emitting diode (AM-OLED) to function. This material provides better picture quality, uses less power than traditional LCD TV’s and are a lot thinner due to no backlight being needed for it to run.
Orange have announced the official details of it’s launch of the LG watch phone (GD910). It will go on sale August 27th and cost £500 for pay as you go customers (non-contract). It appears that stock will be limited as Orange have restricted sales to just 1 per customer.
Before we begin I must mention that you really shouldn’t try this test at home as this particular LG Crystal is slightly different to the normal versions at retail.
LG recently created a video demonstration showing off the LG Crystal GD900. The Crystal is one of the next phones to be launched and it’s most striking feature is the transparent slide down keypad – hence the Crystal name.
The
LG do like their S-Class OS and want everybody to be able to test it out. To achieve this they have created a
PhoneArena managed to get their hands on the LG Crystal GD900 to take a look at. The LG GD900 most striking feature is that it has a transparent, touch-sensitive keypad that slides out from the bottom.
