Yesterday, Apple [AAPL] held a fiscal earnings call with a Q&A. In the Q&A part, Steve Jobs revealed that the Apple TV was doing well and that the company had sold over quarter of a million units since the launch last week.
These numbers of course are no match for the iPad which sold 300,000 on day one, although for a newly relaunched device thats just 18 days old (at the time of the call), its still impressive for the company who said it was more of a hobby. [Read more…]
The T-Mobile myTouch HD is coming soon. No official details have been announced yet although we find today that a promotional video of the device has leaked online (embedded below).

Carphone warehouse in the UK has made the Samsung Galaxy Tab available for pre-order. The Galaxy Tab release date it November 1st and price wise, the tablet will cost you either £529.99 stand alone or £499.99/ on a 30 day rolling contract costing £10/month.
The standalone price tag of £529.99 actually matches the same sized 16GB iPad with WiFi and 3G making it an attractive offer. The device its self runs Android 2.2, has a 7 inch WVGA super AMOLED screen and is capable of playing flash 10.1 content. [Read more…]
The Samsung Omnia 7 is a Windows Phone 7 smartphone launching in the next few days here in the UK. If you decide to get the device on the Orange network, you’ll actually get HD Voice enabled on the device.
What HD Voice does is increases the quality of voice calls to make them crystal clear by removing hissing, crackles and background noise. The downside of it is that you need to be calling another compatible phone on the Orange network to get the full effects of the service. [Read more…]
When Geohot surprised the world last weekend with the iPhone 4 jailbreak called Limera1n the only problem was that you could only jailbreak your iPhone with a Windows based computer.

Halo: Reach is, at the moment, Microsoft’s shining star against a backdrop of run-of-the-mill first-person shooters which has received amazing reviews for its great (and tragic) storyline, beautiful design and fantastic gameplay. Microsoft [MSFT] is about to launch a new version of Office for Mac. It is called Microsoft Office for Mac 2011 and is the first updated version in 3 years.
Early reviews indicate that 2011 is a huge improvement when compared to 2008. AllThingsD describe it as being new, faster and a better version. They also report that when opening documents created in Windows on the Mac that the conversion is far better, although not perfect but still better than the 2008 version with the document rendering closer to the Windows version than it ever has before. Apple [AAPL] has posted details of an event it is holding on October 20. The event is called ‘Back to the Mac’. The image provided with the invite shows a Lion in the background of the Apple logo.

When Apple [AAPL] rolled out the latest iOS 4.2 beta 3 download yesterday, a few new features were added such as the new SMS ringtones section. This new part doesn’t allow you to put your own ringtones on the iPhone, but a bunch of new message tones are now available.

The Advent Vega is an Android 2.2 tablet that will begin to ship in the UK on October 18th. The tablet specs were put online at Modaco and the tablet will be launched by PC World and Currys with a price tag of £249.
The technical specs of the Advent Vega Tablet show that it runs an NVIDIA T20 Tegra 2 chip inside. It is clocked at 1GHz. RAM and ROM are 512MB each and the included micro SD card has a capacity of 4GB. [Read more…]
