RIM has created a side-by-side comparison of the BlackBerry PlayBook and Apple iPad. The comparison runs tests on browser speed to see which of the two tablets performs best on loading up particular websites.
Samsung in the UK is dropping the price of the Samsung Galaxy Tab. Prices over here in the UK range from between £600 – £700. The new price drop will see the Android tablet priced at less than £500.
Barnes & Noble has announced it is now shipping the new Nook Color. The Nook Color was announced recently with pre-orders opening up on October 27. The original launch date was set at November 19 although it appears they are a little earlier than planned.
Those of you in the UK with a Dell Streak will be glad to know that Dell has announced an OTA update for the device that will finally bring Android 2.2 to the tablet.
The HP Slate was first announced at CES right at the beginning of this year. Since then its been canceled, changed to webOS, Android and back to Windows. Now that it has finally launched (in Windows form), we now hear that extraordinary demand has put a six week waiting delay for those who order it today.
The Samsung Galaxy Tab is covered on the front with Gorilla Glass. Gorilla Glass is extra strong glass that can take more of a beating than regular glass. Although the glass was invented as early as the 60’s, it has really only been used in technology for about the last 2 years.
The JooJoo has been discontinued although Fusion Garage, the company behind it, are still alive and pressing forwards.
We just mentioned that Verizon is now selling the Galaxy Tab. We also hear today that AT&T will begin selling the Tab soon, perhaps on November 21 if the images above and below are to be believed.
Yesterday saw the launch of the Samsung Galaxy Tab on the T-Mobile network in the US. Today, its time for Verizon to launch the Galaxy Tab.
In a recent interview, RIM indicated that the new BlackBerry Playbook tablet would be priced at less than $500 when it launches in the US in the first quarter of 2011.
