Today, Microsoft [MSFT] officially unveiled Windows Phone 7 for launch. Information at launch reveals that nine new Windows Phone 7 smartphones will be launching over the next few weeks with Europe and Asia launching on October 21 and US launches being held on November 8.
Launch details also indicate that over 60 mobile operators will be selling the new smartphones in over 30 countries around the globe.
Over the next month or so, devices from Dell, HTC, LG and Samsung will arrive with even more devices arriving over the next few months in to early 2011 and beyond. [Read more…]
The Samsung Focus was announced today. The Focus is a new Windows Phone 7 device that has a price tag of $199.99 and will launch sometime in the middle of November.

Today at the Windows Phone 7 launch event, AT&T [T] announced three new Windows Phone 7 devices. The first of these is the LG Quantum. The Quantum will be the first Windows Phone 7 to launch in the US on the AT&T network. The launch date is November 8 and it will come with a price tag of $199.99. Outside of the US, the LG Quantum will be called the Optimus 7Q.
Another early outing has happened for O2 in the UK. This time its the HTC HD7 that was outed early (planned?). The HTC HD7 release date for those wanting it on the O2 network is October 21.
LG looks to have accidentally published details on the upcoming LG Optimus 7. The Optimus 7 is another Windows Phone 7 device. Just hours before the official launch of Windows Phone 7, the Samsung Omnia 7 has been put online.
Windows Phone 7 is getting launched today. At the event we expect to see details about new smartphones being made available as well as launch dates, pricing and details about what apps will be made available.
Some leaked documents of a UK carriers roadmap reveal that October 21 is the release date for Windows Phone 7.
