Seagate have started to deliver their perpendicular drives with the highest capacity (The DB35) to DVR and digital entertainment manufacturers. The DB35 drives are now available in capacities of 250, 320, 400, 500 and 750GB and are optimised to give the highest performance for digital entertainment delivery systems.

Get Perpendicular Seagate

Perpendicular drives offer far more storage on the single disk. The reason this is possible is due to how the medium stores it's data. More details can be found over at Wikipedia. Just to give an idea of how much TV 750Gb can store... for regular TV it equates to 750 hours of recording. For high def TV thats 125 hours.

With this news I can see a great future for DVR and leading on in to IPTV.

scanR have launched a new service which allows you to photograph a business card and send it via email, MMS or a Google toolbar widget. Once sent, the scanR service will convert the business card in to a contact and email you the details. This will save lots of time in the office entering all your new contacts.
scanR

What actually makes this system more cool is that it has a higher accuracy then the other similar systems in it's class.

Other benefits is that you do not have to carry around any new hardware. This service is compatible with your camera phone and any digital camera. The requirement is that it can take pictures with at least 2+ megapixels so that the image arrives at scanR crystal clear.

The spave age ant habitat (antworks) uses some kind of gel from a NASA experiment and is used as a habbitat by the ants. Smallest RC Helicopter

by Matthew Newill on September 22, 2006

Again, the RC Helicopters have been shrunk in size. The Pico Flyer is the smallest but is not publically available. The Picoz (picooz?, pico-z?) Micro RC Helicopter was the smallest. Now there is the smallest RC Helicopter which costs $79.99 and is really small :) It isnt as small as the Pico Flyer, but it still beats the record for publically available RC helicopters.

RC Helicopter

The helicopter works with 2 sets of blades which spin in opersite directions and are powered from 2 indipendent motors. The rotars can spin at various speeds giving full 360 degree precise control. It works with gyroscopic inertia which keeps the helicopter balanced and controlable.

It has a range of 50' and has 2 LED's for night time flying. The batter inside is good for about 8 minutes of flight.
