This is something we didn’t know till now. There’s a Twitter account for Apple [AAPL] called AppleIncNews.

The account says it’s the official twitter account showing official news from the company Apple. The account has been active for most of this year (since the iPad was announced at the end of January) and currently has 63,459 followers as of the time of writing this.

Google Docs Now Connects with Microsoft Office

Google [GOOG] has announced integration between Google Docs and Microsoft Office. What the new integration does is let you edit your docs with Office and then have them all synced together. This lets you use a familiar interface rather than having to learn the Google Docs interface.

The integration comes in the form of a plugin for Microsoft Office which is called Cloud Connect. Cloud Connect is free to install and use and is compatible with Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Each time you hit save on a document, spreadsheet or presentation, the updated info is synced to Google Docs. AirPrint Compatible Printers Set to Increase

When Apple released the iOS 4.2 GM, developers began to notice that shared printers were being pulled from the service and that only a handful of select HP printers were actually compatible with iOS AirPrint (see list after the quotes below).

We are now getting hints that the list of AirPrint compatible printers is set to increase, if an email from Steve Jobs is actually real.

Dell Logo Gets Subtle Change

Back in 2007, Dell had more than 800 creative agencies around the world working on the Dell brand. This created a number of problems such as there being more than 15 different typefaces for Dell in the English language as well as a number of slightly different logos.

With that in mind, Dell is now moving to a single logo design (pictured below) that will be used across all Dell products. The colour of it isn’t just blue, it’s actually called Dell Blue and isn’t available in any colour book. [Read more…]

Samsung Galaxy Tab WiFi Version Ad on Best Buy

Some Best Buy ads were leaked recently that indicated a WiFi only version of the Samsung Galaxy Tab was to be launching soon. That particular ad has now gone live. The SKU for this particular Galaxy Tab is 1409447 and according to Engadget, Best Buy is promoting it right now… however there’s one problem, Samsung doesn’t have any stock available to send to them.

The correction says that “the WiFi Only version of the Samsung Galaxy Tab will not be available due to manufacturer delay”. [Read more…]

Barnes and Noble Nook Firmware 1.5 Update Released

Barnes & Noble has released the 1.5 update for the Nook eBook reader. The new firmware update brings a number of new features to the device which includes a 50% increase on page refresh rates, syncing across Nook apps, customisable folders, password protection and improved search functions.

iOS Find My iPhone Now Free for iPhone 4, iPad and 4th Gen touch

Apple [AAPL] just announced that the iOS 4.2 update was being launched today. Mixed within that press release were details showing that Find My iPhone was now being made a free feature and that a MobileMe subscription would no longer be required for you to track your missing iOS 4.2 device. The Find My iPhone feature is available on the iPad, iPhone 4 and 4th Gen iPod touch only and requires you are running iOS 4.2 to activate it.

The Find My iPhone (or iPad or iPod touch) feature is now free to use without a MobileMe? subscription and helps you locate your missing device.* The Find My iPhone app is a free download on the App Store? and lets users easily locate a missing device on a map and have it display a message or play a sound. Users can even remotely lock or wipe data from a lost device to protect privacy.

Doom Themed Live Wallpaper for Android Released

Two new live wallpapers have been released for Android based smartphones. The first one is a Doom themed wallpaper that shows characters from the original Doom that launched in the 90’s. You cannot play it like the original game, but you can tap the screen to give your character powerups whilst watching him shoot the bad guys. [Read more…]

iPad 2 Could Get Carbon Fiber Back

Trademark details indicate that Apple [AAPL] could be using Carbon Fiber for the back cover of the iPad 2. What this would do is make the iPad 2 both strong and lighter than the original iPad.

The patent provides details of a unibody setup with a back panel that appears to be just about the right shape and fit for an iPad. [Read more…]

GSMA Propose Embedded SIM Cards for 2012

The GSM Association is looking in to the idea of using embedded SIM cards in mobile phones beginning sometime in 2012. The new embedded SIM cards will be capable of being activated by software which means that one SIM card can be activated on any GSM network when the phone is purchased.

This follows on from what Apple [AAPL] is believed to be doing in their collaboration with Gemalto. Although the idea is good in some ways, ie, you don’t need to worry about a SIM card, it potentially will lead to a whole host of problems for users. [Read more…]

Kin ONEm and Kin TWOm Launch at Verizon

Microsoft [MSFT] has re-released the Kin ONE and Kin TWO. This time around, they are being called the Kin ONEm and Kin TWOm and will be launching back on the Verizon [VZ] network.

As for pricing, the Kin’s are a little cheaper with the ONEm costing $19.99 and the TWOm costing $49.99.

Fusion Garage JooJoo Getting Relaunched

Last week, Fusion Garage confirmed that the JooJoo was being killed off to make space for a new focus, ie, the JooJoo 2.
