Wi-Fi Detector Shirt

wifi_shirt_anim
This cool t-shirt has a wifi signal detector built in. When walking around the t-shirt will display the strength of wi-fi signals around you. This will save valuable minutes as it hunts for a signal for you. Once you see the signal bars increase you can then whip out the laptop and get working away. Too bad it doesn’t show the SSID’s and if WEP is enabled. It will detect 802.11b or 802.11g signals. Also the t-shirt is machine washable. Just make sure you take out the battery pack and screen before putting it through a spin cycle. 3 AAA batteries will power this beast for several hours.

eInk Keypad Phone

eink-keypad-phone
This phone is a COOL idea which uses eInk to create a keypad. The benefit of this is that eInk doesn’t require battery power except when changing what is on the key. This will allow the keypad to be changed and to be a screen but with out draining the resources of the battery. Things to hope for are tactile feed back from the keys as tapping on a touch screen can sometimes be frustrating and even more so, for sending text messages.

Moving Mannequin for Shop Windows

movingmannequin
This mannequin is different to any other I have seen. It actually runs on the spot to demonstrate the clothing in motion. Several modes are available which can see the mannequin walk, jog, run and cycle. This is a one of a kind mannequin and would certainly grab attention of passers by. Costing £5639.98 you wont be buying this for your home.

360 Desktop

360d-eg-xtras-white
360 Desktop is a program which extends your Windows desktop beyond the limits of the screen. It allows for an almost unlimited sized desktop which allows for more room to spread out your work. Images can be used for the backdrop to allow for more of a panoramic effect which from the video demonstration, does look quite cool. To try and imagine how it works, just think of a big circle which your screen has access to a part of. Rotate it around to see various other parts. This is one tool to look out for.

For a full demonstration of what 360 Desktop is, check out the video below.

Mario and Duck Hunt Custom Cartridge Clock

mario-duck-clock
This old 8-bit NES cartridge has been converted in to a wall clock. The idea is quite cool and has brass hands attached to a quartz motor which is then put inside the old Nintendo NES game. It costs $18 and mounts on to a recycled acrylic stand. I like this one!!!

Gold Hard drive to Impress Business Colleagues

gold-hard-drive
My first impressions of the image above was that it was a gold shiney matress. I was wrong 🙂 You are actually looking at a 500GB external gold hard drive from LaCie. It uses USB 2.0 to connect which allows for fast file transfer. Other then that it is fairly standard but just jazzed up a little. I can imagine the looks you get as you whip out a gold hard drive from your laptop case in a business meeting. The gold hard drive will cost $189 and be available towards the end of this month.

Shredding Paper the Yanko Design Way

Green Shredder
A cool concept idea has landed from Yanko Design again. This time it is the Green Shredder. The green shredder is pretty much a normal paper shredder with a twist. Once it has diced and sliced up your paper it then recycles the paper and makes it in to useable paper such as post it notes and what not. Cool idea… will it happen? Not sure. Still a great idea though.
