After a few months of seeing pictures of the Acer Iconia, we now hear it's actually going to be shipping in the next few weeks.
The Iconia is a dual-screen Touchbook that allows users to work with two 14 inch touchscreens. When opened like a laptop, a virtual keyboard can be set on the lower screen while a regular OS running on the top screen.
The technical specs reveal that the device runs an Intel Core i5 chip. The operating system is Windows 7 and the screens are covered in Gorilla glass to make it extra strong. [click to continue…]
The Nikon D7000 Digital SLR has been announced. The new camera has a magnesium allow construction along with a decent price point of $1,200.
Capturing images on the Nikon D7000 is a 16 megapixel sensor. The sensor is capable of capturing video at 1080p at 24 frames per second and 720p at 30 frames per second. A 6 frames per second burst mode is also available that is capable of capturing up to 100 shots at a time.
For focusing, it has a new 39 point auto focus system. The continuous video autofocus found in theD3100 is also found in the D7000. [click to continue…]
Sony has added a number of new digital SLR cameras to the Alpha range. Two of these new camera include the Sony a560 and the a580 which both come with a 3D sweep panorama feature.
Each camera is capable of capturing HD video at 1080i and 29.97 frames per second. The A580 has a 16.2 megapixel sensor while the A560 has a 14.2 megapixel sensor.
Allowing you to create seamless, ultra-wide pictures with a huge field of view of up to 224 degrees. Even at the lowest horizontal panoramic setting you'll get a field of view of 108 degrees: that's equivalent to a wide angle lens with a focal length of just 14mm and 3D panoramas can be enjoyed on any compatible 3D HD television.

Nikon has announced the Nikon D3100 Digital SLR camera. The new version of the camera allows full HD video to be captured in 1080p and has full time auto focus built in.
The Nikon D3100 has a 14.2 megapixel sensor and as mentioned above, is capable of full time auto focus while using live view. Nikon mention that this is a first for a DSLR camera.
Other features include the new EXPEED 2TM image processing engine that when mixed with the 14.2 megapixel DX-format CMOS sensor, providers rich image quality. [click to continue…]
FlashRods are 1/18th scale model sports cars that house a mini USB port mixed in with the chrome of the bumpers/exhausts as well as pack in a small 2.5 inch portable hard drive inside.
About 20 models are available from an Audi R8 to a Nissan GTR. As well as choosing from 20 or so different models, several colours can also be chosen which includes silver, red, black as well as yellow and blue.

DXG has created a new rugged HD camcorder that is capable of capturing full HD video at 1080p under the water. The camera is part of the Sportster range and is capable of going down to 10 feet below the surface of the water.
A feature on the camera, called the Dive Button, allows you to press it whilst under water and the lenses adjust to capture the right sort of image for underwater camera usage by adjusting the colour and other settings appropriate for the different lighting you have below the surface. The Kodak Playsport is a rugged camcorder that is waterproof up to 3 meters. It has a 5 megapixel sensor and is capable of capturing video up to a 1080p Full HD resolution. As well as capturing video the camera can also capture 16:9 wide aspect stills. 4X digital zoom is also included.
The camera has been designed to be rugged and comes in a tactile rubber casing that helps it withstand the occasional knock and scrape making it ideal for taking on sporting activities. Dell has launched a new laptop called the Dell Latitude E4310. The laptop is designed to be semi-rugged and comes in a thin form factor.
Inside an Intel Core i5-540M CPU can be found running at 2.53GHz. This can be switched out for a 520M running at 2.4GHz if a little less power is wanted. Memory wise, it can handle up to 4GB of DDR3 memory running at 1066MHz.
The graphics are provided by an integrated chipset which doesn't make it a good contender where graphics are concerned. The screen measures 13.3 inches and is backlit by LED with a resolution of 1366x768 pixels. [click to continue…]
Palm and Sprint have announced that the new Palm Pixi will be made available for purchase on November 15. The phone will cost $99.99 after the usual rebates that require you to mail them in. You will also need to sign a 2 year contract to get the phone.
The phone will be made available in various places including Sprint Stores, Online, Best Buy, Radio Shack as well as Wal-Mart stores in some locations.
A quick overview of technical specs only shows what we already know in that it has a multi-touch screen, a full QWERTY keyboard and is thin in form factor. The Pixi is Palm's second WebOS device to hit the market after the Palm Pre that was released earlier this year. [click to continue…]
Canon have announced the Mark 4 version of their EOS-1D camera. The camera comes with a 16.1 megapixel sensor with an ISO range of 100 to 12,800 native all the way up to 102,400.
Other features in the Canon EOS-1D Mark IV include a 45 point area autofocus that is customixable along with 39 high precision cross type focusing points. To capture and process the image the camera has two Digic 4 processors and thanks to all this power the camera can capture full HD video at 1080p.
The camera will be priced at around $5000 (estimation) although some have pointed out that 1D series cameras are typically below $4000 for body only setups. [click to continue…]

FLO TV Incorporated have created the FLO TV Personal Television that allows you to watch your favourite news, sports, children's and entertainment programs while on the move on what you would call a digital handheld TV.
The press release mentions that the device offers high-quality TV for those on the go by using both live and time-shifted content over a dedicated multicast network that's free from buffering and downloading. Art Levedev Studio's have created another concept gadget. This time they created the Navigarius which is a satnav unit that sports a round screen. It has touchscreen controls, a USB port, microSD slot and is powered by either battery or a lighter socket on your car.
It looks like it belongs in a future concept car and other than looking rather cool it looks like a pretty standard setup with the usual maps and features of ordinary satnav units. [click to continue…]
