BRAINic have launched a GPS system which comes in 2 sizes. You can have it with the 4.3″ display or the 7″ screen version. The reason behind such a change in screen sizes is to give you the option of what you want to do the most. Do you require portability in your pocket? or do you want a device to play video’s on? The device features out a fold out GPS SiRFStar 3 GPS receiver, an SD card slot, 128Mb RAM and a massive 2Gb ROM. The screen’s are touch screen also. The PS3’s hunger for power has been posted around today. It’s quite a hungry machine. Just to point out a few comparisons first the PS2 used around 45 watts of power. The XBOX 360 needed a little bit more juice and ate at 160 watts. However, the PS3 is set to need a massive 380 watts to keep that thing running. Thats a fair bit

The glowing power cable has been mentioned quite a bit today around various websites. The power cable looks like a regular powercable, but when power is being used through it then it will glow. The more power that is delivered through it the brighter it glows and then also pulses.
Raytheon have created an unmanned aircraft cockpit. This cockpit is cabaple of handling multiple unmanned aircraft. Raytheon have also said that this will reduce potential accidents, improve training and decrease costs. They built it from 35 years of experience and broke down the operators tasks and objectives and built the system around those needs. The display is a wrap around type display as can be seen below, which gives a wider view for the pilot controling the aircraft.
The cockpit gives the user the option of standing or sitting and has flexibility to work with a variety of needed functions. The intuitive interface is what makes the UAS operators more effective in learning the UCS system.
IGN have given a nice video review of the Wii’s interface. The interface is simple and powers all the consoles functions such as memory card management, screen set up and resolution and messages. More is included such as the internet interface. Check out the video below and see how the Wii runs. One thing to note is the disc system can accept both Wii and Game Cube discs and it does not seem to have any issues with loading the smaller Game Cube discs.
Nokia have jumped in to the navigation scene with their 330 GPS navigator model. The 330 GPS runs the Route 66 navigation 7 application with European NAVTEQ map data. It is also rumoured that it will play the DivX format amongst others. It should hit Europe before Christmas.
The Freeview DVD Tablet is a portable DVD player (or super portable multimedia player as some refer to it as). It has a nice 7″ wide screen display which isnt large but isnt small. It makes it fall in to the category of just right. The Xoro will play many formats which are DVD, VCD, SVCD, MPEG 1, 2 and 4 as well as standard audio and MP3s. It can also display JPEG images as well as Kodak picture CD’s.
It has a lot crammed in to it’s small foot print. What ads more to these functions is the Freeview DVB-T receiver module which allows you to watch television with teletext on the go. Just make sure you have a TV licence and check FreeView to see if your area gets reception.

SlashGear got their hands on the TORQ N100 GPS PDA phone and did the good old unboxing ceremony. Their verdict is that it’s a nice device with lots of good things crammed inside. Features such as GPS, a 1.3 Mega pixel camera and it runs Windows Mobile 5. With it having Windows Mobile 5.0 you get the usual standard stuff such as the web browser, Media player and other MSN type software. The N100 does not have EDGE support but can connect to the internet via GPRS. Battery life is something else which caught my eye. Running as a PDA you can get around 10 – 15 hours, running as a phone you get around 4 and GPS goes lower then that. Still very good and useful for the traveler.
MP3 players are coming out all the time. I like some, dislike most because they usually do not add much to whats out now. Every now and again something extra is thrown in and makes you like it. The Rimax Mystic is one of these exceptions.
So what makes the Rimax Mystic so Mystic? Well, it doubles up as a VoIP phone. Connect it to your PC via USB and you have in your hand a very nice looking VoIP phone that is compatible with skype. The Mystic is an ultra slim player that compliments your desk very nicely with it’s features that double it up as a phone.
All we need now is Bluetooth on it and then it can be used with out the old wires Still, a very promising product.
Prices in the UK range from 56 pounds to 90 for the 512Mb version or the 2Gb version.
All of you know what Monopoly is, but I bet most of you didnt know that it has advanced in to the teritory of chip and pin. Long gone are the cheating days where you could sly some money and take bribes to kick another opponent out. Back in yesteryear properties cost a few hundered quid. Not these days, you’d be lucky to find a nice place in London for a couple of mil. Imagine having to count out all those £10 notes. The chip and pin Monopoly is a spruced up version with a chip and pin console. Any time a transaction is done you put your card in to the chip and pin terminal and the money is transferred as needed. Sounds great!
What really impressed me was the price. It comes in at 24.99 from IWOOT.
* A Monopoly ‘Here & Now’ board with a chip and pin terminal and credit cards.
* 6 modern counters.
* 28 Title Deed cards
* 16 Chance cards
* 16 Community Chest cards
* 6 Monopoly bank credit cards
* 32 green apartments
* 12 red hotels
* 2 dice
* Full instructions.
* Suitable for 2-6 players.
* Suitable for ages 8 years+.
* Size: 40 x 27 x 6.5cm.
Sony are celebrating the new Bond movie named Casino Royale, by launching 007 type gadgets. Amongst these gadgets we have a 007 Vaio TX, 007 Digital Camera and a 007 Micro Vault. The 007 digital camera is the Sony Cybershot DSC-T50 which again, is in a sleek black colour. Other features such as the screen privacy filter can be added along with the 007 case to carry them all in. The case might be taking it a tad over the top though
I was over on Geardiary reading today and see they have some nice shots of the P990i that they are linking to. The P990i from Sony is one seriously powerful phone.
