We have read recently of the robot suit aimed to give it’s users beyond human strength. The robot suit is now aimed at ageing farmers over in Japan who need to work but get weaker by the year. The suit will allow it’s wearer to carry half of the load. It uses a mixture of sensors and motors to detect movement and then assist when needed.
It will cost £4700 when it goes on sale in about 4 years time.

The LG Prada is a great looking phone which will be made available in silver. It is due out later this month across a number of countries in Europe and will now feature a full QWERTY keyboard on screen rather then just the T9 key pad input.

USB 2.0 is way cooler then the previous version as it could run up to 480Mbps. However, that is going to be smashed through soon due to the release of the USB 3.0 standard. This new standard will be capable of transfer speeds up to 4.8Gbps which is a HUGE leap of 10 times. The 3.0 specification should be with us early this year with products arriving in 2009 – 2010. USB 3.0 will be backwards compatible with 2.0 and 1.1. Also it will feature some more efficient protocols which will shut down to preserve power when not in use. The cables will be parallel optical which allows for the higher speeds. Bring it on!

Audiovox has created an interesting fridge pen boards. However, it isnt just a plain old white board which you write on. This one has a 7″ screen embedded which gives it audio and visual capabilities. Built in to the audiovox homebase is a mic and small camera which allows you to leave short video or audio messages on it’s 512MB of built in memory. If 512 is not enough then you can use your own flash drive as an alternative. The callendar function allows you to set messages to display at certain times of the year, suuch as a birthday message for your wife, or child.
Available on US mothers day it will cost $149 for the audio only unit, with an extra $50 getting you the video version.

Identity Pal is a USB memory stick which contains all of your child’s medical details. When an emergency happens the Dr’s can quickly access vital information about the child which could help to save a life. The only main concerns I have is security of the data, and if it is password protected, then who would know the password? If you do not have anything too secret then this device could be a great life saver in times of emergency. Let’s just hope the Dr who see’s you knows what the Identity Pal is.

According to a survey, 70% of people do not bother reading labels on clothing. This can of course cause problems with delicate clothing by damaging, shrinking, colours all merging etc… With the RFID Clothes Tag concept you need not worry again. By putting your RFID tagged clothes in to a compatible washing machine, you will never need to make setting changes again. The RFID will be detected and adjust the washing machine settings automatically so that nothing is damaged. The concept idea also makes mention of it communicating with your iron, dryer and presses so that exact temperatures are set when switching on the iron.

When you wear this hat you have full MP3 listening capabilities as well as the ability to record conversations from “apparently” 35 feet away. In all honesty, would anybody be caught dead in the hat? Although I must admit it’s a unique idea, I still don’t fully see a need for it.
On the technical size the cam comes in 5 variations from 256MB to 4GB and the microphone can record 128kbps.

Styrofoam, or polystyrene for us in the UK is the annoying stuff that breaks when trying to take gadgets out of their packaging. Once out it leaves white bobble things on the floor and basically is annoying. However, this did not stop Kwangho Lee from being creative and carving one in to a sofa. If you find your self a little uncomfortable then you can carve out the odd inch here and there to mould it to your perfect shape. Just don’t go dropping drinks or putting too much pressure as you could see your sofa slightly deteriorating over a few months.

Flytech created the unique DragonFly last year which was a seriously different flying RC toy. Now they have created the Bladestar which could kind of be compared to a helicopter in some ways. It has a large rotating blade and 2 rear rotors that are opposite each other. Three sensors help keep it out of trouble by detecting the floor, ceiling and walls. It allows the Bladestar to fly it’s self, or alternatively you can use the remote control. If you want to be truly unique then you can guide the robot RC Bladstar by using your hands to block it’s sensors and guide it around.

This tiny Micro SDHC memory card can cram 12GB of data on to it. That is actually quite incredible. For those who thought they were cool sporting the slightly older 8Gb versions you now need to sell them on eBay and get one of these.
Unfortunately there is no info on pricing yet, but in good old computer ways the 8Gb are surely going to drop in price to make way for the 12Gb big brother.

Asus launched the Eee PC this year and it created quite a bit of interest. They are now releasing a new slim desktop PC which will be named the Nova P22. The P22 is a Core 2 Duo desktop computer. The processor is the E6320 and the slim Nova PC sports 1GB DDR2 RAM. The hard drive is fairly large too which is a 160GB SATA. The DVD-RW is a slot drive allowing that to slim the whole size down too. Wireless runs at 802.11n and there are plenty of ports on it for DVI, USB, sound, power and wired Ethernet.
Not a bad little system with that power and ideal for many who are restricted in desk space. The PC also has a stand to hold the Nova in a similar way to the Wii.
