Dell Logo Gets Subtle Change

Back in 2007, Dell had more than 800 creative agencies around the world working on the Dell brand. This created a number of problems such as there being more than 15 different typefaces for Dell in the English language as well as a number of slightly different logos.

With that in mind, Dell is now moving to a single logo design (pictured below) that will be used across all Dell products. The colour of it isn’t just blue, it’s actually called Dell Blue and isn’t available in any colour book. [Read more…]

Samsung Galaxy Tab WiFi Version Ad on Best Buy

Some Best Buy ads were leaked recently that indicated a WiFi only version of the Samsung Galaxy Tab was to be launching soon. That particular ad has now gone live. The SKU for this particular Galaxy Tab is 1409447 and according to Engadget, Best Buy is promoting it right now… however there’s one problem, Samsung doesn’t have any stock available to send to them.

The correction says that “the WiFi Only version of the Samsung Galaxy Tab will not be available due to manufacturer delay”. [Read more…]

Barnes and Noble Nook Firmware 1.5 Update Released

Barnes & Noble has released the 1.5 update for the Nook eBook reader. The new firmware update brings a number of new features to the device which includes a 50% increase on page refresh rates, syncing across Nook apps, customisable folders, password protection and improved search functions.

Battery life is also said to be increased with this particular update. [Read more…]

Enable Find My iPhone for Free on iPhone 3GS

Today saw the launch of iOS 4.2 for the iPhone, iPad and iPod touch. With this launch the MobileMe Find My iPhone app became available for free as a service for iPad, iPhone 4 and the latest generation iPod touch users. Although that’s all well and good, it does leave out older generation devices from using the free service.

LifeHacker has put together a guide that allows you to activate Find My iPhone on the iPhone 3GS and any other older generation device. This is by no means a way to “get past the approved system” but an actual official way to get it working on the older generation devices. [Read more…]

Xbox Black Friday Deals

Amazon has a number of deals on for Xbox 360 titles this week with some games getting up to a 50% discount off this week.

iOS 4.2 Release Date – Update: Available Now

Update: The iOS 4.2 update just went live for iPad, iPhone and iPod touch.

This is a day you’ve been waiting for all month. Apple [AAPL] has announced that the iOS 4.2 release date is actually today.

As well as being compatible with the Apple iPad, iOS 4.2 is also available for the iPhone 3G, 3GS and 4 as well as the later generations of the iPod touch. [Read more…]

iOS 4.2 Release Time is 10am PST Today

If you are eagerly awaiting the update of iOS 4.2 for iPad, iPhone and iPod touch then you’ll need to wait about another hour and a half or so. It is widely believed that the release time will be 10am PST.

Earlier today, Apple released a press release about iOS 4.2 being made available today. Also, the Apple website was updated to indicate iOS 4.2 was available to download now… but you are probably still clicking the “Check for Update” button in iTunes. [Read more…]

Dell Streak Android 2.2 Update Demoed

Dell Streak users are currently getting the Android 2.2 update finally. While this rolls out, Pocket Lint managed to get hold of a Streak running the latest Android 2.2 update to check out if it brings anything good to the 5 inch tablet.

There are some changes such as Dell Stage that is the main user interface on the device. Eight stages are included with the update that bring email, apps, songs, web pages as well as a few other items that you can access. [Read more…]

Verizon 4G LTE Network to Launch in December

Verizon [VZ] is launching a new 4G LTE network next month. Launching the new 4G network in December fulfills a promise that the company had made earler this year.

In the beginning, there will be no compatible cell phones that can use the service, but the company will be launching 4G data cards that are compatible with the service and will then follow up early in 2011 with 4G LTE compatible handsets. [Read more…]

Custom Built Marble Run With Instructions

Check out the Perimeter Marble Run. The marble run set was custom built and runs around the top of a kids bedroom. It starts off with a big wheel that constantly turns and lifts marbles up. These then join other marbles which then enter a track going around the walls of a bedroom. The process sees the marbles end up at step one where they join the big turning wheel again. [Read more…]
