The Square card reader is a device that allows stores to accept card payments on an iPhone. The reader attaches to a headphone jack of an iPhone and allows the card to be scanned in to an iPhone which runs an app that sets the price and accepts the payment.
T-Mobile is beginning to offer the Square card reader at the point of purchase to business owners who subscribe to a particular plan on the network.
As well as getting a Square card reader, T-Mobile is also bundling some apps for business users such as DropBox, Evernote and LinkedIn.
The Square card reader works extremely well for small business owners who want a cheap way in to accepting credit cards. By going the route of Square it allows them to accept payments that they normally would have to take cash for and thus, potentially lose sales.
