Zypad WL 1000

The Zypad WL 1000 is a wireless computer watch. The thing is rather huge but may have uses somewhere such as while climbing or caving where an accessible computer is needed from time to time.

More seriously, this might become a good tool for emergency situations where because of it's hands free functions which are available right away.

Drones for Surveillance in LA?

L.A. Sheriff is to use drones to fly around the skies of LA. This is an attempt to fight crime. The radio controlled plane will have a high resolution video camera which will beam pictures back to the person flying the plane which means they can get in to many areas quieter and sometimes un noticed so that they can have a birds eye view of whats happening.

More pictures can be found at the link below.

Pink GPS??

This was tagged as one for the girls at Engadget or for anyone else who loves Pink. 🙂 Shame I dont. LOL. I thought I might as well post it here.

The GPS device is very scarce on the specs side and as far as people can tell, it has both 2D and 3D maps available. Intempo Digital should release this soon.

360 Price Drop This Christmas!

Rumours are circulating that the XBOX 360 will have a nice price drop this coming Christmas (niclely timed for the Sony PS3 release). The core package will be less then £200 (I assume that means £199.99) and the premium package will be around the £220 price mark. This is surely a kick in the teeth for Sony who may be selling the PS3 for more then £500+ quid. Play.com already are taking pre orders for the PS3 at £549.99 in the UK.

However the PS3 may still attact avid gamers as they will still love the PS3 console and quite possibly view the 360 as slightly older technology.

How to Flash a DS Lite

This video over on Youtube shows how you can flash your DS lite and start to play SNES games on it. The video is interesting and the article is an interesting read too. I love playing my old games on handhelds. My PSP is great for this also! and a heck of a lot easier then the DS and flashing it.

Creative Zen V Plus

Creative have launched their new MP3 player called the Zen V Plus. This is a rather colourful small device aimed to take on the iPod nano. The MP3 player is flash based and comes in 3 flavours… 1Gb, 2Gb and 4Gb. There is a V plus and a V model which are $30 difference in price. The Plus sports an FM radio and video playback. Not a bad way to spend the extra $30. The battery was tested and lasts 15 hours (reports say 20) which still is quite handy. The screen is 1.5" but lacks the brightness to be still visibile outside. Overall it's a good challenger to the iPod.

Dells D420 Ultra Portable

Dell have introduced an Ultra Portable to the market in the form of the D420. The nice small laptop features a 12.1" display and is supported by cingular or verizon in the US and vodafone overseas. It has wireless capabilities (who doesnt?) running on 802.11n ready as well as an interesting switch which can scan for wifi networks while the laptop is shut down and packed away. It comes with a nice 7 hour battery life and has an SD slot as well as the usual array of USB connections, firewire and other bits and bobs.
