Several days ago we came across a crossword puzzle that indicated Lenovo were launching a new ThinkPad. At the time it was expected that the L Series was going to be announced, and we find out now that this is indeed the case.
Today Lenovo announced that the new L Series ThinkPads are launching. Two models have specifically been mentioned in the press release called the ThinkPad L412 and the L512. Each of the laptops are designed to be high performance as well as durable.
Lenovo also mention in their press release that the laptops are the greenest on the market. Prices will start at just under $700 for the lowest spec model.
Features included on the Lenovo ThinkPad L Series includes HD displays, Intel Core i3 and i5 processors, ATI Mobility Radeon or Intel Integrated graphics and plenty of storage.

* 16:9 HD antiglare displays on the 14-inch L412 and 15-inch L512

The laptops are made durable so that they can be well travelled without causing problems to the device. They also meet various military specification tests for temperature, vibration, altitude, dust and others.
“Today more than ever before, customers are looking to get more out of their PC technology,” said Dilip Bhatia, executive director, ThinkPad Product Marketing, Lenovo. “We designed the new L Series to give users the most important features for being productive like cutting-edge processing performance, long battery life and a VoIP-optimized design without sacrificing the reliability and durability ThinkPad is known for.”
Although we can’t say that they are sleek looking as some other options on the market right now, they do actually look like they will achieve what they are built for… that is rugged usage over a longer period of time.
The ThinkPad L412 and L512 start at $649 and will be available mid-May from the official Lenovo site as well as the regular business partners.
