JailbreakMe.com Hacker Comex Hired as Apple Intern

Comex, the guy behind the Jailbreakme.com website that jailbreaks some versions of iOS has announced on Twitter that he’ll be starting as an Intern at Apple in a couple of weeks time.

It’s been really, really fun, but it’s also been a while and I’ve been getting bored. So, the week after next I will be starting an internship with Apple.

JailbreakMe initially used an exploit found in the Adobe PDF renderer and when code was executed it could be injected in and open up the OS. The tool is extremely smart as it makes jailbreaking possible via a web browser without the need to download software to a PC or Mac and tether up an iPhone.

With Comex (real name Nicholas Allegra) working as an intern at Apple, we can expect to see security tighten up for the OS. He’s spent the last year or so working through code and looking for errors. With those skills, Apple will expect him to keep things secure.
