Gran Turismo 5 has a date… Seriously, it does

“We sincerely apologize to GT fans for the delay”… That’s what Sony Computer Entertainment producer Taku Imasaki when Sony promised the game would be on store shelves for Christmas.

Since then, many retailers had dates set for sometime in 2011. Other announcements included one mentioning the discs ready for dispatch.

First announced in 2006, eager fans have been waiting and waiting VERY patiently, knocked back time after time it seems that a date has now been settled after an announcement made by Sony today. That date is November 24th – You can write that down in stone. It’s now official.

As far as details go, you probably already know by now but just in case you don’t, they are as follows:

Number 1 – There will be 71 racing tracks.

Number 2 – A dynamic weather system has been introduced to the game but only for 11 out of the 71 tracks.

Number 3 – You’ll get to drive some of the more famous super cars including the Lamborghini Murcielago and McLaren F1.

Number 4 – Drivers will get to use the Top Gear race track.

Number 5 – Oh and did we mention it’s available November 24th

Well… That’s about it… For now. You’d probably forgive us for still being a little sceptical but to be fair, Sony have finally stepped forward and given us what we wanted.

Are you still planning on getting your hands on GT5? Bored by all the hype? Let us know what you think.
