Google [GOOG] had plans to sell the Google Nexus One on the Verizon [VZ] network. This has now changed and the Nexus One will not be going to Verizon.
Not many reasons have been mentioned, if any at all, although a statement released by Verizon indicates that they have never had an official stance on the Nexus One and have not once mentioned it.
‘Verizon had never made a comment or statement about the product coming to our network, says Verizon Wireless spokesman Marquett Smith.
‘In the beginning, Google made the statement about the product coming to the Verizon Wireless network and we never made comment around it.
If you were looking to get the Nexus One on Verizon then it seems you’re out of luck this time. But, Verizon do have other devices that will land on their network soon, or that have landed already that are worth looking at. These include the DROID Incredible that launches in 2 days time.
