After a few months of seeing reviews and information here and there, we now hear that Vodafone in the UK have the BlackBerry Storm 2 available for pre-order and it is set to be released on 26 October.
The phone is a much needed follow up to the original BlackBerry Storm that had issues with it’s screen. The new version has a fancy new screen that according to early reviews and previews, works far better than the original Storm.
Back on to the main news, The BlackBerry Storm 2 (also named the 9520) will be available for free on a pay-monthly contract for users. The contract will cost £35/month and will run for 24 months. If you opt for an 18 month contract then the phone is free for those committing to £40/month.
On the technical side of things the phone has a 3.25″ capacitive SurePress touchscreen that has a resolution of 360 x 480 pixels. Wireless is built in and runs at 802.11/g networks and the phone has UMTP/HSPA data along with 2GB of memory, GPS, microSD memory expansion slot, 3.5mm headphone jack, 1400mAh battery that provides 6 hours of talk on a 3G network, bluetooth, GPS and runs the Blackberry 5 OS.
You can pre-order the phone now over at the Vodafone store.
