Just yesterday some leaked information came out about Nikon creating a digital camera that would feature a pico projector. This leak has now been made official by way of a press release from Nikon.
Nikon have announced 4 new digital cameras in the Coolpix point-and-shoot range. The Pico Projector model is numbered the S1000pj and features touchscreen controls.
The S1000PJ is the camera that stands out most among the cameras due to the built in pico projector that allows you to throw images on to any nearby wall. Nikon call it the “Personal Theater on the go”. The screen it can project is up to about 40 inches (more than likely in a darkened room I should add). Other features include a 12.1 megapixel CCD, 5x wide angle zoom NIKKOR glass lens. ISO from 64 – 6.4K and a 2.7 inch LCD display. The Coolpix S1000pj will launch in September and cost $429.95.
