google voice iphone 300x300 iPhone gets Google Voice as a Web App with HTML5For months Google [GOOG] have tried to get Apple [AAPL] to accept the Google Voice application for the iPhone. For various reasons which we wont go in to here, Apple has always declined the application. Thanks to HTML5 Google have now launched Google Voice as a web app which allows Google Voice to be used on the iPhone (as well as the Palm Pre).

The application works just like the web version used on a desktop PC and allows you to make calls, send text messages and listen to voice mail. Contacts can also be accessed from your phones browser.

Synchronisation is also possible that you can sync contacts from your Palm Pre or Apple iPhone with what you already have stored in your Google voice account.

It’s a smart move forwards for Google to do it this way although it would be nice to have Apple approve the app, but this will just have to do for now!
