Sony Ericsson MBW-100

by Matthew Newill on December 29, 2006

MBW 100
Its not often you come across a watch with bluetooth and that is also capable of caller ID, showing text messages and control your phones music player. The Sony Ericsson MBW-100 does just that. It's a bluetooth watch which communicates with your phone so that you can leave it in your pocket, or on your desk and as long as you are in range then you can see whats happening. I can only see the main benefit really being that caller ID would be handy if you use a bluetooth headset. I have to admit, that it's a great looking watch though and I could get one because of it's looks.

Eclipse Design Phone

by Matthew Newill on December 28, 2006

Eclipse Design Phone
The Eclipse Design Phone by Rune Larsen targets the audience of those who like a phone that makes calls and not much else. Nokia have created simple phones as have Vodafone, but there is still room I believe for the simple phones with out all the extras. We do not know if this phone will hit the market as it is still just concept but if it does then it could gain some following with it's sleek looks and simplistic functionality.

LG LAN-9600R
The LG LAN-9600R is an excellent peice of kit for your car. It looks similar to the Alpine motorised in dash screens, and has some great built in goodies. The screen is 7 inch and touch screen too. Built in is also a Bluetooth kit, 300Mhz processor, SiRF Star III GPS receiver, 2Gb storage with a USB connector to transfer music from your USB flash drive to the system. It also has an SD memory slot to also allow copying of giles. The DVD player built in will play most video formats.

The player costs around 2000 dollars and would make an excellent addition to those who are looking for this type of kit for their car.

RoadBox
If you have ever been in a car accident and wish you had a witness to back your claim then the roadbox could be ideal for you. The RoadBox does exactly what you need it to. It will record your journey and if the unfortunate should happen then you will have a recording of what actually happened. The problem is that one of these would need to be on each corner of your car if you were to get hit from an angle out of the viewing angle of the camera. It is still a great idea though and ideal for those who do lots of mileage or have bad luck when behind the wheel.

Larger DS Screen

by Matthew Newill on December 28, 2006

DS
Recently a number of rumours have been circulating that the Nintendo DS will soon sport a larger and better screen. The new screen will be around the 3.5 to 3.8 inch size which will certainly make the DS more competitive against the Sony PSP. If the rumour is correct then the new DS should be out mid 2007.

Skype Competition

by Matthew Newill on December 28, 2006

Skype Phone
If you would like to win one of these Skype USB phones then read on. Before I pass on details of Skype's little competition I will pass along a quick review of the above phone. I purchased one of these as a gift for a family member at christmas and it does exactly what it should. You basically plug it in, install the drivers and then you have full control over skype from the USB phone. If you push the red phone then skype minimises, if you push the skype button then it loads back up. You then have the option of scrolling through the contacts list on screen, or entering a number to dial. It is very basic and has no screen it's self. If you are looking for a basic phone to make outbound calls then the US Robotics phone is an ideal choice at a good price.

Competition details after the jump.

The device is quite slim at 0.55 inches and can play back audio for 18 hours. When video is played this drops to a respectable 8 hours still which is 3 - 5 movies still. There is plenty of support for different video and audio formats also.
