Toshiba AT200 Excite will Measure 7.7mm Thick

Toshiba will soon launch a new tablet called the AT200. This new model is the next generation version of the original AT100. The new Toshiba tablet will have a 10.1 inch screen with a resolution of 1280×800 pixels. It will run the Android 3.2 Honeycomb operating system and be powered by a 1.2GHz TI OMAP 4430 processor.

RAM on this device is 1GB and it will have internal storage up to a capacity of 64GB depending on which model you choose. One of the impressive specs on the device is that it measures just 7.7mm in thickness which makes it thinner than the iPad 2 by 1mm. Battery life is around 8 hours according to Toshiba.

The tablet measures 256mm x 176mm x 7.7mm. Other details show that it has a 5 megapixel rear-facing camera. It also has a camera on the front that will be used for video calling.

What Toshiba has done to shoot its self in the foot with this device is announce the new AT200 the same day as the older generation goes on sale here in the UK. So, today you can pick up an AT100 in the UK, but now have the details on the new generation model. At the moment we don’t have the release date of the AT200, but with it being announced we at least expect it to arrive in the next few months.
