Toshiba has announced a new smartbook called the Toshiba AC100. The AC100 runs Android 2.1 making it capable of waking up in less than a second from standby mode.
The AC100 from Toshiba has a clamshell form factor. It has a 10.1 inch screen and has been designed to be used to consume media from the internet along with providing the ability to edit documents, emails and other messages.
The battery life on the Toshiba AC100 allows it to stay in standby mode for up to seven days. Whilst in use you’lll see about 8 hours of usage on a single charge.

It is targeted at users who utilise several devices but still desire an easy-to use, slim and light smart companion that can be taken almost everywhere and that offers superior usability to that of smartphones.

No release dates have been provided yet although we expect to see the new Toshiba smartbook in the next few months.
