Sony Xperia GX Arrives at the FCC For Testing

It looks like the US will be getting the relatively new Sony Xperia GX smartphone. The device was announced for launch in Japan but has now been spotted at the FCC in the US ready for testing purposes.

The technical specs of the device show that it has a 4.6 inch screen which is a Mobile Bravia. It is powered by a 1.5GHz processor and has a powerful 13 megapixel camera. Video can be captured in full HD at 1080p. For storage it has 16GB built in. The operating system on the GX is Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich at the moment although it “might” be updated to Android Jelly Bean for launch, or perhaps shortly after launch. Sony has done a little better recently with getting updates out to its smartphones.

We’ll post more details as we get them, but for now it appears that it is just getting certified which if it passes then we should hear more details about a launch date.
