Eveready Boombox

Someone decided it would be good to take apart a torch and stick a 4 inch speaker in it, connect it to an iPod and power the thing with a Duracell 9V battery… what do you get from that? An Eveready Boombox (sub for those in the UK).

The assembly is quite obvious from what I can see although you will need to figure out how to make the amp. I am sure an electronics geek friend could help in that catagory though. Maybe some ultra bright LED’s should be put at the front also so that it can be used as a torch also.

ezVision Video iWear HMD from ezGear

ezGear have created a HMD (head mounted display) so you can watch full screen movies on your travels although it’s ideal to sit when wearing one of these 😉

The HMD has the ability to create a simulated 50 inch screen right in front of you (not sure how far away it looks) and comes with iPOD and RCA cables for $400.

I am still not convinced with one of these although it could be something I wear in bed while trying to fall asleep.

iTrip to still be banned in UK?

The iTrip is banned in the UK although it is easily obtainable over the internet. The iTrip sits on top of your iPod (or acts as a docking station) and transmits the signal to your FM radio making the connection wireless between iPod and radio.

FM transmitters have been banned in the UK since about the 40’s because of having to pay to use the frequencies. The LibDem’s have insisted that ofcom provide more details (compelling evidence) of the problems with using it in the UK.
