Samsung is planning to run a trial production of a 42 inch OLED HDTV that could launch as early as next year. The new larger OLED screens are being built in a new production line that will start third quarter of 2010.
Once trials are complete towards the end of this year the factory should be ready for mass production bringing the screens to us sometime next year.
The new production line is capable of increasing production volume up to two times when compared to the previous lines. The new line is also capable of creating the 42 inch panels.
Other than that information we do not know anything else such as costs when they launch. With these being what we believe to be the first mass produced OLED 42 inch panels, you can probably bet they wont be cheap at all.
