Origen 4 Quad development board launches

Another new development board has launched. This particular model is the Origen 4 Quad which comes with a Samsung Exynos quad-core 4412 processor. The board is aimed at those who want a small device to develop specific applications. It has a number of connectivity options as well as outpits which includes HDMI, Ethernet, USB and SD. WiFi, Bluetooth and GPS is included as well as audio.

The processor is the same that is found in the likes of the Samsung Galaxy SIII. It is clocked at 1.4GHz and includes 1GB of RAM.

Price wise it costs $199 for the basic model which includes an audio sub-board. For $469 a few more features are added such as a wireless connectivity board, a 7 inch LCD display that has 1024 x 600 pixels.

Overall, an impressive looking board although for those wanting a cheaper option to handle smaller tasks, something like the Raspberry Pi is a fantastic option as it costs around $35.

The board will be put on sale in September.
