Nokia Ovi Maps lets you record your own Voice Instructions

Nokia has launched a new kind of cool in a weird way feature, that allows you to record your own voice for Ovi Maps Navigation so you can tell your self where to go whilst driving.

The system has been designed to allow you to easily set a recording for each instruction whereby you simply talk out the instructions step by step at which point a package is created. You then have the option of sharing your voice directions with others or friends, or if you’re too shy, you can just keep them for yourself.

Although it’s an odd idea, it could catch on in certain groups of friends who use the same type of Nokia phones with Ovi Maps Navigation.

The service is available right now and can be downloaded from the Nokia site. All that you need to run voice instructions is a phone that is compatible with the Nokia Ovi Maps Navigation service which includes the following devices…

Nokia N97 Mini, Nokia N97, Nokia 5800 XpressMusic, Nokia N86, Nokia E72, Nokia X6, Nokia E55, Nokia E52, Nokia 6730, Nokia 6720 Classic, Nokia 6710, Nokia 5230.
