Reports are going around today hinting that the Nokia N9-00 MeeGo smartphone is getting axed by Nokia.
This particular device is being referred to as the N9-00 although this was never confirmed by Nokia. The said device was first spotted in the middle of 2010 although not much else was heard about it.
As for reasons for it to get the axe, it is believed to be software rather than hardware that is the reason behind this. The N9-00 was said to have near perfect hardware and that the OS was what let it down.
This, of course, follows on from the leaked memo sent from Nokia CEO Stephen Elop who said that Nokia was lagging behind.
It’s a shame really as this device looked to have a fair bit of promise although this wont see daylight now.
