Nokia N9 Will Launch in 49 Days

Nokia has announced that the Nokia N9 will launch in 49 days from now. A dedicated web site has been created which features a countdown timer showing how long is left till the official launch.

49 days away puts the launch on September 23 although pricing and other details are not known although rumours are hinting that it will be priced over $650 for the SIM free version and likely a lot lower for those buying on contract.

What we have heard about the device is that it will run the MeeGo operating system. Other technical specs show it has an 8 megapixel camera that uses a Carl Zeiss lens. Auto-focus is included and it also has a flash. The glass on the front is made of Gorilla Glass and is curved towards the edges. The processor running inside is clocked at 1GHz and is an ARM Cortex A8.

The 8 megapixel camera can capture HD video at 720p. Other details include 1GB RAM, 16GB of storage with 64GB being optional (no mention of 32GB). For connectivity it has the usual Bluetooth, WiFi and also has A-GPS for navigation and location based services.

Nokia has uploaded a video on the demo site which at the moment cannot be embedded. For all the details (including the video), visit the Nokia page.
