MSI P600 gets a Core i5 CPU

MSI have introduced the MSI P600 laptop that is aimed at the business user. The P600 has a 15.6 inch screen, an Intel Core i5 processor and uses onboard Intel GMA HD graphics.

The P600 can take up to 4GB of DDR3 memory and up to a 500GB 2.5″ HDD. Other HD capacities include 250GB and 320GB on the lower end models.

A memory card reader is built in allowing for SD/SDHC and MMC cards to be read. Outputs on the laptop include a HDMI port and VGA output. For inputs a couple of USB 2.0 ports can be found alongside an eSATA port, mic-in/headphones jack and an Ethernet port.

USB 2.0 ports, an eSATA port, mic-in/headphone-out, Ethernet, an 8-cell battery, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 2.1 and a 1.3MP webcam. There’s also a pair of speakers, a Kensington lock port, fingerprint reader and a good bit of pre-installed software.

The 8 cell battery gives about 8 hours of usage on a single charge allowing it to get mostly through a business day (which is good considering it’s a business laptop). MSI have also increased security on this laptop by including a dual biometric security system that requires you scan your finger print in to a built in biometric scanner.

EasyFace software: In addition to protecting your data with a fingerprint reader, the P600 is equipped with MSI’s exclusive EasyFace program to further protect your notebook. The EasyFace Manager uses the P600’s HD webcam to take and store several sets of photos of the user which are utilized by the easy-to-use EasyFace Autolocker and EasyFace Logon when accessing your computer.

No details of launch dates, prices or availability are known at the moment although we expect them with in the next month or two.
