Motorola Xoom Prices Dropped

It appears that Motorola is about to officially drop the price of the Motorola Xoom tablet. In the UK, Dixons has dropped the tablet from £500 down to £329 for the 32GB model and also has dropped the 32GB 3G version down from £580 to £400.

Although the price hasn’t dropped directly from the top to bottom end (there was another intermediate price drop a bit ago), it still makes us ask why the price is dropping now. Other reports also hint that other retailers are dropping the price too in different locations across Europe with comments also suggesting the price has dropped in India as well.

Motorola may or may not make this official, but we expect that stores are trying to shift some inventory to make way for other devices.

As for the technical specs of the Xoom (for those that need a reminder), it has a 10.1 inch screen that has a resolution of 1280 x 800 pixels. It runs an NVIDIA Tegra 2 chipset and the Android Honeycomb operating system from Google.

Expect to hear something more official in the next few days.
