The guys over at MacWorld have been busy benchmarking the new range of MacBook Air laptops that Apple [AAPL] announced last week. The new models come with faster processors and SSD drives that help increase performance.
MacWorld tested the 11 inch 1.4GHz Core 2 Duo model with both the 64GB and 128GB SSD and also tested the 13 inch 1.86GHz models with the 128GB and 256GB SSDs inside.
Results show an improvement over previous models in battery life, CPU speed and other areas. A brief summary shows the following…
Looking at the Speedmark 6.5 results, three things stand out:
* Flash storage is fast;
* The flash-storage capacity did not affect performance;
* The new MacBook Airs are faster than their predecessors.
If you are still undecided about getting on then check out the full MacWorld benchmark results to see if that helps you figure it out. Results can be found over here.
