Kindle for Blackberry Launched

Amazon have announced that Kindle for Blackberry is now available. The software allows you to access all your Kindle eBooks while on the move on your Blackberry and syncronises all data including annotations created on your Kindle or computer with your Blackberry smartphone.

The software is compatible with several Blackberry devices which includes the Bold 9000, Bold 9700, Curve 8520, Curve 8900, Storm 9530, Storm 9550 and Tour 9630 smartphones.

The application can be downloaded over at Amazon and once installed gives you access to browse over 400,000 books including 101 of the NYT best sellers.

As well as being able to browse through the catalogue of books you also get the ability to read the first chapter to see if you enjoy the book enough to buy it. Once a book is purchased it is then ready for download on your Blackberry, PC or Kindle device.

The Blackberry Kindle software is still in Beta mode with enhancements being added over time. These will include better scrolling allowing you to scroll line by line rather than just page by page. Notes and highlights will also be added soon along with search functions.

Available now from Amazon.
